The type of trash being thrown away determines the application of the bag. High Density bags are for paper and heavy smooth objects; and Linear Low Density bags are for sharp rough objects. You can save money on bags by choosing a better option for your specific needs. Many bags are too large and thick for their application – don’t pay for more plastic than is needed to get the job done. Federal and State RegulationsRed and Yellow liners• Designed to contain biochemical waste or blood borne pathogens (Infectious biochemical waste)• These bags are used for either on-site or off-site incineration• Red or Yellow liners being used to transport hazardous waste off-site using public highways must meet federal and state regulations required for the transportation of regulated medical waste. The State Department of Transportation (DOT) requires that biohazard bags must meet the impact resistance of 165g (ASTM D1709) and tear resistance of 480g (ASTM 1922.) Bags meeting DOT standards are noted with + below.
