Issue 39 Term 1- Week 4, 2013 Principal’s Message Great Start to 2013 I am most pleased to report that our school year has begun very well indeed. Children returned from their sum- mer holiday refreshed and we have continued as we left off last year. Overall behaviour levels are very high, stu- dents have settled in calmly and our educational programs are well underway. Our classes have now been finalised, following confirmation of our enrolment and staffing levels last week. I am pleased to say we have had an increase in student enrolment. We are delighted to have 40 new kinder students in 2013, which is the highest number for many years. I would like to extend a warm welcome to all our new fami- lies. Meet the Teacher Thank you to all the parents who attended our Meet the Teacher afternoon on Monday. It’s a great start to the year to be able to meet your child’s teacher and understand the programs which will be taught. As I said at the beginning of the afternoon on Monday, at Bonnyrigg we see your child’s education very much as a partnership between school and home. The more communication we have the better we are able to provide for every child’s individual needs. Similarly, if there is ever something you would like to talk to me about please feel free to contact me. Swimming Carnival Our annual School Carnival was a great success on Tuesday. Once again the day was characterised by maximum participation by all students in the great variety of activities which were organised. Congratulations to everyone who attended and enjoyed the day. The winning house will be announced as soon as all the points are added and checked. Congratulations to the finalists and we wish our zone swimmers well this week. Thank you very much to all staff for your great efforts on the day, with very special thanks to Miss Ngov and Miss Strickland for their outstanding organi- sation of the day. Attendance At Bonnyrigg PS we value attendance. It is extremely im- portant that students attend school daily and are punctual. Students that arrive after the 9am bell are late and need to go to the office for a late note. Our students are rewarded for regular attendance, being on time and bringing a note to explain absences. The month of March will be attendance month. Students who attend every day of March, are not late and bring a doctors certificate when sick will be invited to a Pizza Party and enter into a prize raffle. Principal’s Message Great Start to 2013

I am most pleased to report that our school year has begun very well indeed. Children returned from their sum-mer holiday refreshed and we have continued as we left off last year. Overall behaviour levels are very high, stu-dents have settled in calmly and our educational programs are well underway. Our classes have now been finalised, following confirmation of our enrolment and staffing levels last week. I am pleased to say we have had an increase in student enrolment. We are delighted to have 40 new kinder students in 2013, which is the highest number for many years. I would like to extend a warm welcome to all our new fami-lies.

Thank you very much to all staff for your great efforts on the day, with very special thanks to Miss Ngov and Miss Strickland for their outstanding organi-sation of the day.

Attendance At Bonnyrigg PS we value attendance. It is extremely im-portant that students attend school daily and are punctual.
