AFGJI Newsletter Volume 9Session 2019-2020
Welcome
We are elated to welcome Air Commodore Ashutosh Chaturvedi VM, Air Commodore Schools Adventure and Sports and Chairman Managing Committee, Air Force Schools. He joined our establishment in the month of January 2020. We are absolutely certain that his vision and ambition will lead us to the epitome of success. His guidance and expertise will greatly help our institution in attaining greater heights in times to come.
“A nation is advanced in proportion to education and intelligence spread among the masses.”
The future of the country lies inside every classroom and each facilitator and the parent is the beacon of light, guiding them in the right direction.“Strength lies in differences and not similarities” is the motto to build a united society. ‘Where the mind is without fear and head is held high’: a place where an individual is inspired, not only to churn their minds and to paint their curiosity on sheets, but also to create a canvas of their own. A canvas of ideal morals, of strength and of pride. This is exactly what AFGJI mirrors as an institution.
With great zeal and gusto, we are proud to publish the 9th edition of the Annual AFGJI Newsletter, focused on integration of ideas, people, mindsets and the unique abilities of the competitive students of our school. ‘Milestones’ showcases the comprehensive progress of students and the growth of the school in the last one year.
Editorial
Principal’s MessageWe as a nation are at the crossroads of a paradigm shift, which we are witnessing and experiencing as we step ahead. It will be fairly accurate to say that in these changing times, school education will undergo a major metamorphosis wherein, we will see the education sector reinventing itself into a completely new phase of growth. The signs of these are not only evident but they are
pressing the old models strongly to align with the new phase or get obsolete. The structure and practices in our education system are so overpowering and consuming that the human element seems to get lost. We need to nurture the human element. Youth is the time when seeds of the character are sown. Emphasis should be on character and passion in the teaching-learning process. Today’s students are rich in knowledge but lacking in values. At AFGJI, it has been our constant endeavor to nurture the values and shape their personalities. We need to train our children to brave the challenges of life and retain their humaneness –the quintessential quality of a human being. I congratulate Team Milestones for their painstaking efforts in compiling yet another wonderful issue of our school’s Newsletter.Poonam S Rampal
