Welcome BBQ & Information Night
This afternoon we will be hosting a welcome BBQ for our families. A free sausage sizzle will be pro-vided and the SRC will be selling drinks. You will have the oppor-tunity to chat informally with our teachers and you will receive the 2019 information book, which has a list of classroom requirements. The BBQ starts at 5pm.
Swimming Carnival I am so proud of our Super South-ies for their outstanding sports-manship and enthusiasm to partic-ipate wholeheartedly in our school swimming carnival. It is always one of my favourite days of the year.
Working Bee On Saturday February 23 we in-vite you to support us at our work-ing bee from 8am – 11am. We will be paving a new sensory path, churning hard soil for laying turf, and doing a general grounds tidy up. As many hands as possible will be appreciated. Morning tea will be supplied.
SRC Two students from each class have been elected to be a part of our Student Representative Coun-cil.
Throughout 2019, these repre-sentatives will be provided with participation and leadership oppor-tunities by asking for input from peers, holding class meetings where all students can personally voice their opinions and by holding special fun or themed activities/events in which all students can participate.
SRC badges will be presented at next Monday’s afternoon as-sembly which will be hosted by our School Leaders.
Back to School Separation Anxiety NIGHT Info Session
Starting school for the first time or returning to school after a break can bring up some strong feelings in children and parents. It is not uncommon for children to experience big emotions and engage in behaviours that are very difficult to cope with.
The ‘Got It’ team and the School counselling service will be pre-senting a Back to School Sepa-ration Anxiety Information Night at Hobartville Public School, Val-der Ave Hobartville, on Thursday February 21 from 6.30pm – 8pm. All welcome.
Voluntary School Fees An invoice for family school fees will be sent home today.
School fees provide important support in ensuring our students participate in extra-curricula ac-tivities as well as keep up to date our computer resources and li-brary facilities.

Stage 3 Lyrics to I AM AUSTRALIAN
(Emma) I was born here in Australia With strong English ties I love the warmer weather And my Aussie blue eyes. (Gracie) I come from a small town With lots of dirt and grass A land of flowing rivers And treasures from the past. (Haley) I was born here in Windsor To a large loving family I’m proud of my rich heritage And the dolphins in the sea. (Jeremy) I’m the son of a tradie I see horses as they run I’m a sportsman and an ath-lete I am Australian. CHORUS: We am one, but we am many And from all the lands on earth we come We’ll share a dream, and sing with one voice I am, you are, we are Aus-tralian
(Connor) I come from South Windsor Where the school is the best Great teachers, great children All better than the rest. (Ella) I’m a child of many beaches Wildlife beauty when they run I’m a student, an Aboriginal I am Australian. CHORUS: We am one, but we am many And from all the lands on earth we come We’ll share a dream, and sing with one voice I am, you are, we are Austral-ian We am one, but we am many And from all the lands on earth we come We’ll share a dream, and sing with one voice I am, you are, we are Austral-ian
I am, you are… we are Australian…
