LADY DIANADiana, Princess of Wales is born 1 July 1961, she was

the first wife of Charles, Prince of Wales, whom she

married on 29 July 1981, and a member of the British

Royal Family. She was also well known for her fund-

raising work for international charities, and an

eminent celebrity of the late 20th century. Her

wedding to Charles, heir to the British throne and

those of the then 18 Commonwealth realms, was held

at St Paul's Cathedral and seen by a global television

audience of over 750 million.

While married she bore the courtesy titles Princess

of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall, Duchess of

Rothesay, Countess of Chester and Baroness of

Renfrew. The marriage produced two sons, the

princes William and Harry, currently second and

third in line to the throne, respectively. Diana was

born into an aristocratic English family with royal

ancestry and became a public figure with the

announcement of her engagement to Prince

Charles. Diana also received recognition for her

charity work and for her support of the

International Campaign to Ban Landmines.

From 1989, she was the president of the

Great Ormond Street Hospital for children, in

addition to dozens of other charities. She

remained the object of worldwide media

scrutiny during and after her marriage, which

ended in divorce on 28 August 1996.Media attention and public mourning were considerable after her death in a car crash in Paris on 31 August 1997.

PRINCE CHARLES

Charles, Prince of Wales, was born 14

November 1948, is the eldest child and, since

1952, heir apparent of Queen Elizabeth II.

Since 1958 his major title has been His Royal

Highness The Prince of Wales. He is known as

The Duke of Rothesay in Scotland and as The

Duke of Cornwall in Cornwall. He is the

longest-serving heir apparent in British

history.

THEIR STORYPrince Charles makes a proposal of marriage on Feb. 24, 1981 On the day of their wedding, July 29, 1981, thousands of people take to the streets of London are surrounded cathedral "St. Paul", which will take place the wedding ceremony, and millions observed from the TV screen marriage between 32 year and 20 year-old Crown Princess Di. Less than a year after the wedding, on June 21,

1982 Princess Diana gave birth to their first son

- Prince William Arthur Philip Louis. On

September 15, 1984 to light appears and Prince

Henry Charles Albert David. The whole world is

watching the family of Prince Charles and

Princess Diana. For people that life is like a fairy

tale, but it turns out that's not true. In the mid-

80s appear first serious problems between

them. In 1986, Prince began to be seen again

with his old love - Camilla Parker-Bowles.

Princess Diana, in turn, developed bulimia and

attempted suicide.

Spouses continue to appear together in

public places, but they live separated

from 9 December 1992 Prime Minister

John Major announced the formal

separation of the couple in the British
