Student Absences Just a reminder to all parents that the School is now using electronic rolls to mark student absentees. Could parents please email [email protected] advising of any absences from School. These absences may include illness, late arrival, appointments, early departure or sporting/music commitments. Advising your child’s teacher at the same time is very much appreciated. If you have a child in the Secondary School, this is the same email address that you currently use. We will continue to make contact with you if you have not notified us of your child’s absence.

Stationery Drought Appeal Over the holidays, Mr and Mrs Brady took all the donated stationery items out to Longreach which were then given to help with children’s education at the Longreach School of Distance Education. Greeting Mrs Brady were Longreach School of Distance Education Deputy Principal, Rachelle Moore and Parent Liaison Officer Deanne Jones.

Thank you to all the families who donated items to this fantastic cause and a special mention to the following local Rockhampton businesses: Allenstown Newsagency, Archer Park Newsagency, Officeworks and Big Colour Works. We have also received some letters from the families who benefited from the donations. Please take the time to read the lovely messages from these families.

Australian Government Assistance for National Capital Excursion The Year 6 students from our School, will soon be undertaking an educational tour of the National Capital. While on this tour, they will participate in a variety of educational programs focused on Australia’s history, culture, heritage and democracy. The Australian Government recognised the importance of all young Australians being able to visit their National Capital as part of their Civics and Citizenship education. To assist parents in meeting the cost of the excursion, the Australian Government is contributing funding under the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate (PACER) program toward the travel expenses incurred. This contribution will be paid directly to the School upon completion of the excursion. We would like to thank the Australian Government for their support of this program. I know that this excursion is a rewarding experience for all students.

Regards Mr Geoff Hadwen Head of Primary
