LET’S TRY!
PUTTING IT TOGETHER! To have healthy teeth and gums, we should avoid food that are too sweet.
This means we should avoid the donuts and sweet drinks.
During Health Education lessons, my teacher taught us that eating too much sweet stuff can cause our teeth to decay. This means that our teeth will spoil, and we will have to pull it out/extract it!
“In fact, I am fortunately not a fan of donuts. Firstly, I find them too sweet, and secondly, they are deep fried. Once, I was standing outside JCO Donuts. I saw the baker mixing the ingredients for the donut icing; I was appalled by the amount of sugar added into the mixture! And that was only the tip of the iceberg! I was turned off by the amount of oil that was used to fry a donut! As for sweet drinks, I am aware that not only do they contain high amount of sugar, some of the drinks such as Coke or Pepsi are also corrosive for our teeth. Once, I read on a viral online article that Coke can be used to remove rust from jewelries. I dread imagining the detrimental effects one will ultimately experience on their teeth and gums from the consumption of these sweet drinks.
LET’S TRY!
PUTTING IT TOGETHER!
To stay healthy, we will need to exercise regularly, and have enough sleep.
Exercising helps to build up our muscles, and improve our immune system. This will make us fit and strong! Having enough sleep will make sure that we have enough energy for the activities we do.
“In fact, this is why mummy makes it compulsory for me to be in bed by 10 pm every night, even on the weekends. She wants to ensure that I am well- rested, and can concentrate in class. There was once where I stayed pass my my bed time to complete an assignment which I had forgotten about till the eleventh hour. The next day, not only did I wake up feeling grouchy, I was also unable to understand the content taught in school that day. To make matter worst, I actually dozed off twice during Mathematics lesson. This infuriated my teacher, who made a call to Mummy, but not before embarrassing me in front of my peers with her sarcastic remarks. And as expected, Mummy gave me a piece of her mind when I returned home that day. In retrospect, staying pass my bed time was definitely a bad decision!

the culprits are John Tan and Mark Loh, both of whom are from our
school. They are from class 6 Unity. They were drawing some pictures
and playing tic-tac-toe on the wall. I strongly feel that the boys should be
punished as they were wearing school uniforms and their acts had
tarnished our school’s good reputation. (Details of email, 6 Content

Report on New CCA Survey Results (Title to give main idea of report)
The purpose of this report is to inform you on the CCA selection survey results
conducted by the Student Council. (Purpose of report. No need for self-introduction for

The purpose of the survey was to find out which new CCA the pupils would like to have
in the school. The survey was conducted on the upper primary pupils in the school.
Based on the survey results, the Track and Field CCA option was the least popular
among the pupils, with only 5% of the pupils voting for it. I recommend that Basketball
be introduced in the school as it has the highest amount of votes. 45% of the pupils
taking part in the survey voted for it. (Details of report, Points 1 to 6 of Qn)
I hope you will consider my recommendation and introduce Basketball as the new CCA
in the school. (Action you want from reader. Reports should not have personal

Complaint on Broken CD (Title to highlight main content of letter)
My name is Henry Lee, a customer of Kico CD Shop. I am writing this letter to complain about one of your
salesgirls, Jane Tan. (Self-introduction and purpose of letter)
On 1 October 2007 at 11 am, I bought a CD, ‘Top 10 Children’s Songs’ from Kico CD Shop and immediately
went home. When I opened up the CD cover, I found that the CD in the box was broken. I went back to the
shop on the same day, 1 October 2007 at 5pm and showed the original receipt and the CD to the salesgirl on
duty, Jane Tan, to ask for an exchange. To my surprise, she refused to give me a new one and to make
matters worse, she accused me of breaking the CD myself. I felt very angry and disappointed as it is clearly
stated on the receipt that goods can be exchanged within three days of purchase with original receipt. (Details
of letter; Points 1 to 6 in the task)
I would appreciate it if you could look into the matter and allow me an exchange for the broken CD that I have
purchased from your shop. Thank you for your kind attention and looking forward to a favourable reply from
you. (Spell out the action you want from the reader and thank the reader for reading the letter)
