PRIDE At Cranbourne Primary School we promote Intrinsic PRIDE in
ourselves and our learning.
Persistence— the quality that allows someone to continue doing
something or trying to do something even though it is difficult.
Responsibility— demonstrating qualities that someone can be
trusted to do what is right, what is expected or required.
Individuality— being able to think and make decisions without
following others.

These attributes are also demonstrated through our 5 school rules.

Why you should attend
transition sessions
Transition sessions are important for both 2019 Foundation
students and their parents. The students are provided with
opportunities to:
meet the students they will be in Foundation with.
familiarise themselves with the school and the classroom
environment.
get to know their teachers for the 2019 school year.
It is also important for parents to attend the Transition Information
sessions to:
meet other parents.
understand how the English and Mathematics Curriculum
operates at Cranbourne Primary School.
understand how to prepare their child for the beginning of
school.
collect your child’s English and Maths Pack to assist them in
developing skills they will need in Foundation.
Transition Session 4 Tuesday 27th November 2018
11:45 am - 1:30pm (Student Session Only)
In this session students will be involved in a developmental play session that will encourage students to interact with each other during play based activities. They will then meet the ICT teacher where they will learn computer skills and explore programs using IPads and desktop computers, and the Art teacher where they will participate in activities that will focus on their fine motor skills such as drawing, folding and cutting.
Orientation Day Tuesday 11th December 2018
11:45 am - 12:30pm (Student Session & Parent Workshop)
This is the official Transition day. This will be an opportunity for your child to meet and participate in learning experiences with their 2019 teachers! Only children who are fully enrolled prior to the 11th of December are able to participate in Orientation Day.
During this session, parents of enrolled students will attend a short workshop with the Curriculum Coordinators to explain how English and Maths are run at Cranbourne Primary School. Parents will be given the opportunity to ask any further questions they have about their child starting in 2019.
Transition Session 2 Tuesday 30th October 2018
11:45am - 1:30pm (Student Session Only)
During this session the students will complete English based activities in the classroom. They will then meet the Music teacher where they will be involved in a variety of activities involving dancing, singing and musical instruments, and the Physical Educa-tion teacher where they will participate in games and activities based on the Perceptual Motor Program (PMP) that runs at CPS.
Transition Session 3 Tuesday 13th November 2018
11:45am - 1:30pm (Student Session Only)
During this session the students will complete curriculum based activities in the classroom.

As part of the Transition program, your child will be given an
opportunity to participate in a variety of activities and meet some of
the teachers, while parents attend the Information Sessions being run
on the 16th of October and the 11th of December.

This session is for prospective parents. Topics covered include:
Programs and learning experiences provided at Cranbourne Primary School.
Enrolment Information.
An opportunity to ask your own questions.
This session will be held in the staff room (main building near the office)
Transition Session 1 Tuesday 16th October 2018
11:45am - 12:30pm (Students Session & Parent Workshop)
Welcome to your child’s first session at Cranbourne Primary School!
During this session, students will engage in a range of “Getting to
Know You” games and activities that involve developing their social
skills.
During this session parents will attend a short workshop with the Principal for a “Meet and Greet” and general discussion about what to expect in 2019. This session will provide parents with an opportunity to ask any questions they may have about their child attending CPS. During this session, parents will also be able to collect their child’s English and Maths Activity Packs as well a Starting School Pack.
