ResidenceResidences are centrally located and offer basic accommodation at competitive prices, mostly with shared bathroom and internet in the common areas. The Vanderbilt & West Side Residences are both busy, budget options with shared bathroom and include free gym & pool access in the building. The Central Park Inn offers the convenience of a studio apartment in a quiet street near Central Park, though without any of the services of a hotel or residence. Hotel 99 and the Broadway Residence both offer budget accommodation in excellent locations, with both en-suite and shared bathroom options available.
IH New York Accommodation
Private apartmentsIH New York offers a selection of private apartments for students to rent on their own or share with friends or family. Prices vary from about $2,300/month to about $5,000/month. Apartments are located in Manhattan, Brooklyn and New Jersey. Contact us for details.
HostelsFor students on a tighter budget, New York has a variety of hostels available in Manhattan and Brooklyn, which offer clean, safe, shared-room accommodation. Often populated with a young traveling crowd, staying in a hostel can be fun, though during the busy summer months, it may be a little noisier than a homestay or residence. If you are interested in our many low-budget hostel options, contact us for more information.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS1. Payment of FeesAll students must have paid in full at least 15 days before arrival. Tuition, accommodation or airport transfer details will not be confirmed until all fees have been paid in full.
2. InsuranceEvery student must have appropriate medical insurance. IHNY recommends using Global Guard Insurance (www.guard.me) and offer their insurance for $2/day. Students not wishing to take GlobalGuard Insurance must present an equivalent insurance certificate on arrival.
3. Registration Fee and Accommodation Arrangement FeeThe $130 registration fee and the $100 accommodation arrangement fee are non-refundable.
4. Tuition, Insurance and Airport Transfers4.1 Where cancellations are received in writing at least 15 days before the course start date, tuition, airport transfer and insurance costs will be refunded. 4.2 For cancellations received in writing less than 15 days before the course start date but before the first day of the course, students will be charged an amount equal to one week of tuition and any airport transfers arranged. Insurance costs will be refunded. 4.3 After arrival, four weeks’ notice is required to change or cancel tuition or insurance. Tuition refund is calculated on the rate of the actual number of weeks studied, not the number of weeks originally booked. 4.4 Two business days' notice is required for any changes to the airport transfer reservation. Failure to notify IHNY of any such changes may result in a failure to be picked up and/or loss of airport transfer fees.
5. AccommodationWeekly accommodation providers (this includes the Vanderbilt Residence, the West Side Residence, Upper West Side Hostel and The Broadway Hotel and Hostel)
5.1 Where cancellations are received in writing at least 15 days before the arrival date, the cost of accommodation will be refunded. 5.2 For cancellations received in writing less than 15 days before the first day of the accommodation reservation but before the arrival date, IHNY will withhold a cost equal to one week of accommodation 5.3 After arrival, four weeks’ notice is required to change or cancel accommodation. An administrative fee of $100 may be applied to any changes.

5.4 Where cancellations are received in writing at least one calendar month before the arrival date, the cost of accommodation will be refunded. 5.5 For cancellations received in writing less than one calendar month before the first day of the accommodation reservation but before the arrival date, IHNY will withhold a cost equal to one calendar month. 5.6 After arrival, one calendar month’s notice is required to change or cancel accommodation. An administrative fee of $100 may be applied to any changes.
6. General6.1 IHNY reserve the right to terminate without refund the classes and accommodation of any student whose conduct is clearly inappropriate. 6.2 IHNY will make all refunds within 28 days to the person or agency that paid the invoice.
