Thestackerontherightiscounterbalanced.Theweightoftheloadisoffsetbyanequalorgreateramountofweightbehindthemast.

While both styles are available with similar capacities and liftingheights, they are not interchangeable. For applications such asservicing rack and stacking pallets, stackers with base legs areappropriate. Their shorter overall length allows them to work intightquarters.Toloadandunloadtrucks,transferloadsfromgradetodock leveloranywhere thatbase legscouldget in theway,acounterweightstackershouldbeselected.

MostPrestoStackers featureFixedmasts.Whenhigher lift heightsarerequiredatelescopicmastmaybenecessary.Telescopicmastsfeature an innermast nestedwithin the outermast channel.Whenforksareraisedtoaheighthigherthantheoutermast,theinnermastrises(telescopes)togainadditionalliftheight.

Telescopicmast stackers have a lower overall lowered height. Forexample,afixedmast2000lb.stackerwithaliftingheightof86”hasa mast height of 106”. A similartelescopicmaststackerprovidesaliftingheightof94”anda loweredmastheightofonly73”.

Understanding Load Center Powered Lift vs. Manual Lift

Theweightoftheloadbeingtransportedisonlyoneofthefactorsused todetermine the requiredcapacityofastacker foragivenapplication.Anequallyimportantfactorisloadcenter.Loadcenteristhedistancefromthebackoftheforkstothecenterofanevenlydistributedload.Prestostackersareavailablewithloadcentersof15",18",20"and24".Whenselectingastackerforyourapplicationmakesuretoconsiderthetypeandsizeofloadyouwillbeliftingandtransporting.

PrestoStackersareavailablewitheithermanualliftorpoweredlift.

Manual liftstylesincludefoot-pump,hand-pumpandhandcrank.Whiletheamountofworknecessarytoactuatetheliftingmechanismisnotunreasonable,manualliftsarebestsuitedforlighterloadsandlessfrequentuse.

PoweredliftstackersareavailablewithACorDCelectricmotorstoliftloadsatthetouchofabutton.Selectapoweredliftstackerwhendealingwithheavierweightsorhigherdutycycles.

Stackers with base legs are available in 3configurations. Fixed Straddle, AdjustableStraddleandFork-Over.

FixedStraddlelegscomeinapredeterminedwidth.When selecting a stacker with fixedstraddle legs make sure that the insidedimensionofthestraddlelegsisgreaterthanthewidthofyourlargestpallet.

AdjustableStraddle legs can have awiderornarrowerinsidedimensiondependingonthe needsof the application. The rangeofadjustabilityistypically10”–15”.

BothFixedStraddleandAdjustableStraddlestackers can be used with any type ofpalletorskid–includingpalletswithclosedbottoms.

Fork-Overstackershavelegsthatsitdirectlyundertheforks.Theycanonlybeusedwithopenbottompalletsorskids.
