Why TextoneBy choice most people would prefer a brick or stone built building but are
concerned about the cost and several weeks of upheaval (i.e. major ground
works, footings, drainage, building regulations etc) as well as problems matching
existing finishes which could be many years old and no longer available in the
size and colour required. The answer is a TEXTONE building which can be
manufactured and built in almost any colour or texture and shaped to blend
in with your existing property.
SpecificationTEXTONE buildings are manufactured from steel reinforced concrete sections
which form the main inside shell of the building. On completion of the building
the unique TEXTONE outer surface is applied in layers and sculptured to the
required textured finish which forms a waterproof layer that automatically
increases the 'U' values of the walls.
DurabilityTEXTONE buildings weather naturally ensuring its beauty for many years and is
unaffected by extremes of hot/cold and dry/wet conditions. TEXTONE finish is
covered by a 10 year guarantee.
PreparationTEXTONE buildings require a substantial level concrete base. Our Technical
Representative will on request visit the site and give a written estimate for laying
a concrete base and any other site preparation and excavation work required.

When choosing your up and over door whether it be steel, timber or glass reinforced plastic, you need to ask yourself the following questions.
Do I want a canopy or fully retractable door? Do I want a factory primed or factory fully finished door? Do I want two or four point locking?
Do I want a remote controlled operator?

If you’ve ever had to leave your car on a cold, wet, windy day to fumble
with your garage door keys, you can probably imagine the convenience
and luxury a remote control system could bring to your life. All
Henderson garage doors are available with remote control so
you can open your garage at the push of a button, from the
comfort of your car. The door will open automatically, a
light will come on in the garage to welcome you home
and you can close the door behind you before leaving
the safety of your car. Remote control adds perceived
value to your home and you will be pleasantly
surprised by how affordable it is.
Remote controlled electric operation
Your up and over garage door will give you years of service if you follow
these simple routines. Ensure that all pivot points, bearings, springs and
rollers are oiled. DO NOT oil tracks. Ensure that there is no debris or dirt on
or around the door so that rain water can drain away easily and that
normal air circulation will allow the door to dry in good weather.
AT LEAST EVERY 3 MONTHS: Check, and if necessary, oil all pivot points,
bearings, springs and rollers. DO NOT oil the track. EVERY YEAR: Check the
following: The fixings between the door, and the buildings are solid and
secure. The door lifting gear and its fixed points to the door and frame are
solid and secure. All pivot points, bearings, springs and rollers are oiled.
Steel garage doorsIf your steel door is supplied in a factory primed finish, it will require
painting with a good quality semi-gloss or matt exterior household paint
and appropriate undercoat as soon as possible after installation.
The primer coat is applied as a base coat only.
Before applying the paint ensure the surface of the door has been
washed down using a solution of water and non-abrasive detergent,
(such as washing up liquid). Then thoroughly wash the door with warm
water a number of times removing any evidence of the detergent.
Fully factory finished doors should require no further painting. To help
preserve the appearance of the door periodically wash with warm water.
GRP garage doorsGloss white GRP one-piece doors are supplied in a fully finished condition
and require no further painting or treatment. To help preserve the
appearance it is recommended that the door is washed down with warm
water and a non-abrasive detergent. To help preserve the appearance of
Timber effect GRP one-piece doors a periodic dust down with a soft bristle
brush followed by a wash down with warm water is recommended.
Please Note: remote control operators are generally fitted to fullyretractable doors.

Selecting the type and colour of roof sheets to be used on your new building involves careful consideration. These relate to the buildings form and
function, its local environment and most importantly the perception of colour. The perception of colour is particularly important when choosing roof
sheets as it is widely accepted that the use of darker colours visually diminishes the size and impact of a structure. Conversely, the use of lighter colours
visually increases the size and impact of a structure on its surrounding environment.

In most cases Planning and Building Permission is generally not required for sectional buildings with less than 70 cubic metres capacity and
30 square metres floor area.
If in doubt consult your local planning office as there are situations when planning and building approval could be required, as each local authority
applies different rules to Planning and Building Regulations.
As a guide permission could be required in the following cases:
Buildings over 70 cubic metres in capacity
Buildings with a floor area of over 30 square metres
Buildings to be situated forward of the house building line
Buildings covering over half the area of the garden
Buildings over 3 metres high fitted with a pent roof, and buildings over 4 metres high with an apex roof

Knowing that an after sales facility is available is an important consideration when purchasing your new concrete sectional building. Should the
unforeseen happen in years to come, vandalism, accidental damage, door problems, key loss etc. Prestige Sectional Buildings Ltd stock most
individual parts and carry a substantial range of spares for Henderson up and over doors. A call out service is available on request.
After sales service
For the DIY enthusiast Prestige Sectional Buildings Ltd can supply all buildings for self-build. Individual concrete panels and components can be
purchased separately for those wishing to create a bespoke sectional building to there own personal requirements.

To check that your base will be square, measure out a 3-4-5 triangle as
shown in the diagram above before securing timber shutters.
To final check your timber shutters prior to ordering your concrete,
measure the diagonals which should be equal in length.
When setting out your shuttering for a new base make sure you allow for
the overhang of the roof.
Pent Roof: Allow 6 inches (150mm) on the front and rear and 3 inches
(75mm) on the sides.
Apex Roof: Allow 6 inches (150mm) front, rear and sides.
If the garage is to be fitted with gutters allow 8 inches (200mm) on side.

Now you have chosen your new concrete sectional building you need to ask yourself, do I need a new base? All concrete sectional buildings
require a substantial concrete base of suitable thickness to suit your ground conditions. We recommend a minimum of 4 inches (100mm).
The base must be flat, square and level and at least 3 inches (75mm) wider and 3 inches (75mm) longer than the external dimensions of
the building to be supplied.

We would also recommend that you use a reputable ready mix concrete
company who will be able to advise you on the quantity of concrete
you require.
After allowing a few days for the concrete base to set our experienced
erectors will on a pre-arranged date erect your sectional building which
generally is done within one day. (Larger buildings sometimes do take
longer to erect).
After your garage has been erected we strongly recommend that a sand
and cement fillet be placed on the base where it meets the panel on the
inside to prevent water ingress.
