It’s not only a production consideration but a possible factor in the story telling, i.e. “Fargo”. 2. Re: Pressure Point

Dick:

Here are some preliminary thoughts on the screenplay and its production:

1. Consider the weather. It’s not only a production consideration but a possible factor in the story telling, i.e. “Fargo”.

2. Number of EXT scenes: 94 totaling 49 3/8 pages Number of INT scenes: 54 totaling 35 7/8 pages The script should be designed to minimize the EXT scenes as much as possible without compromising the structure.

3. I have questions as to the time continuity of the script and how the characters move around as quickly as they do. This would also include the rapid circulation of Jed’s wanted poster.

4. Shane needs to be fleshed out further and get him more involved so that his heroics pay off better at the end.

5. The story’s final action scene has to be inventive and carefully detailed to maximize the money spent. This is the show piece of the film. A strategy needs to be developed to create the best production value possible and take into account the weather. One possibility, CGI, should be investigated.

6. Take another look at the logic of the brakes failing.

7. Why don’t the authorities have and or use a helicopter?

8. Sheriff Hunt is a good character but I question why he would give up the hunt so easily when he gets the call about the demonstration at the station. Especially since he is so obsessed and determined to get his wife’s killer.

9. Things I like: The opening and the setup The motor home Sheriff Hunt

The supporting characters Jed’s determination to save his family Tiffany The mistaken identity angle The potential of the final action scene

Overall, it’s a good story and with many nice character and action moments. With scrupulous attention to the task at hand, we can deliver an exciting and tightly-paced film that will make us all proud and happy.

All the best.

Sincerely

Eric Weston
