BRIEF FACTS: -
In the area of PS Fatehpur Beri, there was a sudden spurt of Night
Burglaries, wherein valuables worth lakhs were found to be stolen. To
effectively control the burglaries which took place especially on Dark
Nights, local police staff was deployed in civil clothes so as to have a strict
vigil over the movement of suspicious persons.
Finding no respite, a meeting of local villagers & area politicians was
held on 25/05/14 under neighbourhood watch scheme. Subsequently it was
decided that local police staff alongwith the villagers would perform night
patrolling in the area especially between 12 Midnight to 3:30 AM. Hence the
patrolling started w.e.f 25/05/14 itself.
On the night intervening 27/28-05/14, HC Ramesh No. 3158/SD &
HC Yudhvir No. 18/SD and Ct Ranvir No 1439/SD alongwith a civilian
namely Bijender S/o Kiran Singh R/o Village Jaunapur were patrolling in
the area of Village Chandan Hula, Asola and Fatehpur Beri. While they
were near Shanti Farm, Chandan Hula Village, they saw four persons in
suspicious condition. As they tried to stop them, all the four persons started
pelting stones at them. Subsequently the local police staff with the help of
the villagers overpowered and apprehended all the suspicious persons, who
were found to be (1) Shaitan S/o Nathu (2) Ram Dass S/o Amba Ram(3)
Manju S/o Chhatar & (4) Bhagwan Singh @ Bhaya S/o Sunil all r/o Distt

On sustained interrogation it revealed that all the accused persons
were from a gang which operate especially on Dark Nights in the capital.
Their Gang leader Shaitan S/o Nathu is involved in as many as 12 different
case of Murder, Attempt to Murder, Robbery, Arms Act etc. Shaitan further

Distt Guna (M.P).
The Gang operates on Dark Night and carry various house breaking
implements with them. They also carry Sling Shots to scare police or public.
Before striking, they consume Liquor & energy enhancing tablets so as to
withstand & overcome the resistance & beatings from public if they get
caught. In day time one of them used to do race and tend to choose posh
residence at the periphery of locality so as to provide them opportunity of
escape in case of emergency. At night they knock window pane with
missiles from slingshots before executing the operation and if this event
awakens any of the inmates they move to next one, otherwise they began to
remove the iron grill of window with the help of Z-shaped Iron Rod and
thereafter cut wire gauge with the cutter to push hand inside to open the
