musicgarage.org rehearsal • performance • production • community PRESS RELEASE NOVEMBER 10, 2011 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Grand Opening: New Facility Serves Music Professionals, Music Teachers, Students, Community Professionals, emerging and student musicians have a new rehearsal, showcase, audio and video facility Salt Lake City, UT – MusicGarage.org is an affiliate program of the non-profit Utah Arts Alliance that has been providing music performance and production-mentoring programs in Utah's public schools and at the Utah Arts Alliance Building since 2009. MusicGarage.Org has a new  facility at 389 West 1700 S outh, Unit E, Salt Lake City, UT 84117. The Grand Opening of the n ew rehearsal, showcase, audition, workshop and pr oduction center will be on December 2 and D ecember 3, 2011. The new MusicGarage.Org facility is Salt Lake City’s only dedicated hou rly music rehearsal and pr oduction facility. Features include:  15’ x 18’ Stage with Pro Sound and Lighting  Digital multi-channel live audio recording (laptop-friendly; clients may use our computers or bring their own)  Full backline; drums, guitar and bass amps, keyboards and more (clients may use ours or bring their own)  Video Production (clients may use our videographers or bring their own)   Audio Production (laptop-friendly: clients may use our 8 channel (free) or 24-channel interface (fee) with our computers or bring their own)  Multi-camera Live Video Streaming of Showcases or Special Events (coming in 2012)  Mac and PC audio and video editing stations with Apple Logic, Sony AC ID, VST Library and more (clients can do elsewhere)   Art Gallery (Applying to Salt Lake Arts Council’s Gallery Stroll in 2012) Music performance and production mentoring, classes and p rograms for rock, jazz, blues, hip-hop (adults or youth)  Private teacher or other artist studios for rent (8 available, starting at $300/studio including utilities) Since 2009, MusicGarage.Org has served Utah’s private lessons teachers with affordable (from $10/hr) ‘add-on’ jazz and rock performance programs that help teachers retain students longer while p roviding performance opportunities for youth at venues, events, fairs and festivals statewide. PRESS OPPORTUNITIES: MusicGarage.Org’s rock music youth program, RockGarage meet for rehearsals on Thursdays from 5 PM – 7 PM and the press are welcome to attend for interviews with staff, musicians and parents. For other live media appearances, youth can be organized for radio, television, print or web-based interviews and performances on location at our facility or in-studio. We request as much advance notice as possible to accommodate school and family. Mus icGarage.org staff, volunteers or workshop presenters may also available upon request.
