This 27th edition will be the first since CUIR À PARIS was bought by Première Vision in March 2014. More than 8200 m² of floor space in Hall 3 of Paris-Nord Villepinte will be occupied by leather producers ; this is the same surface area as September 13 but with a more refined selection of 430 exhibitors. European tanneries make up almost all the exhibitors at the show : 54% from Italy, 17% from France, 9.5% from Spain and 6% from Turkey with a total of 94% of exhibitors coming from across Europe.

Once again all the exhibition space at the show has sold out; this season more than ever, the show is showcasing the quality and positioning of its exhibitors and their products, to best serve the premium and luxury labels from the garment, leather goods and footwear sectors that make up its visitorship. “ The leather goods industry, which is the leading sector of the CUIR À PARIS show, has been particularly dynamic in recent years and the future looks bright for the European leather industry providing it continues to distinguish

itself with high quality products and great creativity. The shows of Première Vision Pluriel group have chosen to adopt a selective positioning in tune with the market and its needs. This strategy has demonstrated its worth and CUIR À PARIS is itself a very good example of this. Today we wish to continue along this route with the implementation from February 2015 of a Selection Committee for CUIR À PARIS, made up of professionals from the sector, who will be in charge of ensuring the standard of creativity and quality of new companies applying to join the show ”, announced Philippe Pasquet, CEO of Première Vision S.A.

Following the lead taken by Modamont, CUIR À PARIS will strengthen the selectivity of its range, making the show into the leading “ one-stop shop ” for footwear and leather goods sourcing. The two shows can now boast a total of more than 750 exhibitors offering leather, buckles, soles and heels, zips, textiles, clasps, laces, eyelets, straps and more. Two shows for two very complementary market sectors, with a shared visitor base.

In recent years, CUIR À PARIS has worked hard to renew and enrich the fashion information it provides, in terms of both format and content. “All year round, useful information for preparing collections can be found on our website, our social network sites and our mobile application, as well as the latest news from the industry, articles about latest trends and features on materials. This provides visitors and exhibitors with information “ just in time ” for when they need it, according to their sector of activity and their products,” explains Marc Brunel, the Show Manager.

The show is transforming its material and fashion information forums into more experimental areas where the sensory experience is key, and is renewing the way it interacts with visitors. In September more than 720 m² will be dedicated to this subject in two forums : The TRENDS GALLERY and INCUBE.

On the TRENDS GALLERY, visitors will not only be able to discover the film of the season and appreciate its colours through the projection of filters, they will also be able to purchase the colour palette produced on leather.

The INCUBE forum is based on technical information and the latest material innovations, and invites visitors to push back the boundaries of design. The visitor experience will be enhanced here by the inclusion of Q-R codes for the materials, which can be flashed to find out more about their properties.

A BREATH OF FRESH AIR FOR THE FASHION WORLD

Along with providing fashion and trend information as sources of inspiration for design, CUIR À PARIS has always been a keen promoter of the talents of today and tomorrow.

For this edition, the region of Tuscany and its tanneries, renowned for their expertise and knowledge of vegetable-tanned leather, challenged the latest generation of designers from the greatest international fashion schools to create a collection ! As experts in this field, visitors to CUIR À PARIS will be encouraged to visit the area where the collections are displayed, called “ CRAFT THE LEATHER ”, and vote to designate the most innovative project. Not only will the winners receive a week of training from Tuscan tanners, collectively organised as the Consorzio Vera Pelle Italiana Conciata al Vegetale, but they will also receive a prize from the Tuscany Regional Promotion Bureau and the Pisa Chamber of Commerce.

Another platform dedicated to research and expertise is BESPOKE and for this edition it invites visitors to explore the inner workings of creation, with a selection of 10 companies who use leather with flair on behalf of some of the biggest names in fashion. Embroidery, screen printing, sculpture on fur and other embellishments on leather will be displayed there, with the addition this season of the designer Laëtitia Fortin and her work which seeks to bring new life to leather.
