Hillsborough, CA, 1 Jun 2012 In 2011, Cognitive Kid released its first app titled “Ansel & Clair’s Adventures in Africa”. Since the launch, the app has won rave reviews and excellent feedback as can be seen on the company website (www.anselandclair.com). Below are some highlights:

Building on the critical acclaim, Cognitive Kid launches an exciting new trilogy of Ansel & Clair adventures focused on dinosaurs. Each of the three apps in the trilogy will explore a different dinosaur period: Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous. In the first app in the trilogy titled “Ansel & Clair Cretaceous Dinosaurs”, you go back in time to visit the Cretaceous Dinosaurs with friendly travel companions Ansel, an intergalactic photographer from the planet Virtoos, and a knowledgeable Virtoosian robot named Clair. Both of these original animated characters were specially created for the touch screen. Together, Ansel and Clair are on a mission to take photographs and document their adventure so they can teach their fellow Virtoosians all about Cretaceous dinosaurs.

Ansel and Clair can’t do it alone, they need your help! Take photographs of the things you’ve learned about in the Cretaceous and arrange them in a travel log to document their experience. That way, Ansel and Clair can share them with everyone when they return to Virtoos.
Visit fossil dig site Excavate dinosaur bones But, wait! Before you embark on your Cretaceous adventure, visit a modern day fossil dig site and meet Dr. Lindy Bones, a renowned paleontologist. Dr. Bones shares his exciting discovery of a new kind of dinosaur called the Kosmoceratops. Do you know it’s the fanciest dinosaur ever found? Learn why! Dr. Bones even takes the time to teach you about the different dinosaur periods and about different types of fossils. And he lets you have a sample of a bug trapped in amber for your Travel Log.
Solve dinosaur jigsaw puzzle Witness meteor shower Who needs a time machine to go back to the Cretaceous when you have Marley Peterson, Ansel and Clair's spaceship! All Marley needs is an object from the time period you want to travel to. Aha! You need to find a cretaceous fossil. Hang on for dear life as you go down a rickety old elevator shaft and roll up your sleeves to help Ansel and Clair dig for dinosaur fossils from the Cretaceous period. Dr. Bones has graciously allowed you to borrow a fossil after you

help him put the fossil pieces you find back together. Insert the fossil into Marley's time sensor and off you go to the Cretaceous period. Watch the polar icecaps disappear and present day continents as they morph into Cretaceous Earth with Laurasia and Gondwanaland before you land.
Explore different interactions Learn from pop-‐up images The whole Cretaceous adventure is a seamless blend of education and entertainment. While the interactions are exciting, they are really geared towards teaching. Kids learn without even realizing it. Learn through Ansel's critical questioning and Clair’s encyclopedic knowledge. Why was the Oviraptor called an egg-‐thief when it actually died protecting its own eggs? Why do scientists now believe a meteorite caused the extinction of the dinosaurs? Why did the Kosmoceratops have frills on its head? Why is the Maiasaura a good mother? Why is the Sarcosuchus referred to as the “super croc”? Innovative Clairvision and pop-‐up images provide even more information for the curious.
Wipe sand away to save the Oviraptor Organize pictures in Travel Log And have fun while learning by dragging leaves over the Maiasaura’s eggs to keep them warm, save the Oviraptor from being buried in the sand, wipe away the green gooey snot off Ansel

after the Kosmoceratops sneezes on him, and even teach a Troodon a trick. Watch a volcano erupt and see a spectacular meteor shower, and hear the Tyrannosaurus’ mighty roar and much more. Just like Ansel and Clair’s Adventures in Africa, the 3 apps in the Dinosaur Trilogy truly take advantage of the iPad’s capabilities. Stunning graphics, exciting interactions, and immersive gameplay make for an experience that educates and entertains. “Ansel & Clair Cretaceous Dinosaurs” is sure to provide children and adults with hours of fun and education at the same time. Ansel and Clair Cretaceous Dinosaurs is available now through iTunes. It is $1.99 and compatible with all iPads. Visit www.anselandclair.com for additional information including videos and screenshots. Scientific Disclaimer As with all Ansel & Clair apps, Cognitive Kid spends significant time and effort researching the material. For the dinosaur series, the company reviewed over 100 books, articles and scientific publications. During its research, Cognitive Kid found significant differences in the information and facts. In situations of conflict, the company has relied on more scientific, more reliable and more recent sources of information. For example, the discussion about the first therapod (is it Eodromaeus, Eoraptor or Herrerasaurid?) is based on a scientific article published by one of the world’s most respected paleontologist in the prestigious journal “Science” in January 2011. While Cognitive Kid has spent significant effort verifying the facts, it is possible that some factual errors have crept into the app. Cognitive Kid apologizes for these mistakes. If you do find something that is not accurate, please let us know at [email protected]. We will update the app to fix these inaccuracies.
