Who We Are
Too often pilots finish their training and then become distracted and disengaged from the flying
community. The result is a dangerous lack of proficiency and or the loss of support to the flying
community as a whole. IMC Club is mitigating this issue by providing a means to reengage pilots with
other pilots and instructors. IMC club is coaching, training, mentoring and helping pilots to fly in actual
instrument meteorological conditions.
Regular bi-weekly meetings where pilots and instructors have the opportunity to engage and discuss
topics related to instrument flying are combined with actual mission flights where members fly missions
designed on a graduated scale of complexity. For instance, initial missions include real world flying
scenarios with relatively simple parameters. More complex missions would include scenarios with
multiple re-routings from ATC and more complex weather decisions.
Post Mission briefings are prepared by participating pilots and presented at the by-weekly meetings.
This provides the pilots of those missions and members of the IMC Club to learn from each other’s
experience.
Completion of these missions would determine member’s rank in the club
Club rank based on missions flown:
Club Standard – 5 Missions completed
Club Silver – 10 Missions completed,
Club Gold – 15 Missions completed,
Club Diamond – 20 Missions,
Club Platinum – 25 Missions

IMC CLUB
MASTERING THE ART OF INSTRUMENT
FOR IMMIEDIATE RELEASE
IMC club opened to a wider audience
September, 2009, Norwood, MA- Due to the tremendous success of the IMC Club in Norwood, MA, the
Club is opening its doors to share its safety mission with a wider audience. Starting today pilots nationwide
are invited to join a truly unique club in aviation.
The IMC Club’s goal is to increase pilot confidence and proficiency in actual IMC conditions. It was
established as an additional learning resource for instrument rated pilots and students pursuing their Instrument
Rating. To accomplish this, bi-weekly meetings are held to help pilots and students build and maintain their
IFR skills and to learn from their peers.
Too often pilots complete their training and then become distracted and disengaged from the flying
community. The result is a dangerous lack of proficiency and/or the loss of support from the flying
community as a whole. IMC Club is mitigating this issue by providing a means of reconnecting pilots with
other pilots and instructors. IMC Club is committed to coaching, training, mentoring and helping pilots
skillfully and safely fly in actual instrument meteorological conditions.
Bi-weekly meetings provide a forum for pilots and instructors to discuss topics related to instrument flying.
Post Mission briefings are also presented by participating pilots and are analyzed so all members can learn from
the experience. Club Missions are divided into four levels, each level being more complex than the
previous level. For example, initial missions include real world flying scenarios with relatively simple parameters.
More complex missions include scenarios with multiple re-routings from ATC and more complex
weather decisions. Completion of these missions determines your “rank” and proficiency level in the club.
Pilots and instructors can participate in the IMC Club movement by opening their own IMC Club Chapters and
enjoying the benefits and full support of the IMC Club website. No fee is charged for club membership.
IMC Clubs mission is to promote pilot safety!

MASTERING THE ART OF INSTRUMENT
FOR IMMIEDIATE RELEASE
Enormous Interest in IMC Clubs
September 23, 2009, Norwood, MA - Shortly after AOPA included the IMCCLUBS.ORG in its
newsletter, the IMC Club website received a record number of hits generated by inquiries from all over the
United States. Over 9,000 hits were received on the first day along with a flood of emails requesting
information on how to open chapters or join locally. To date, pilots from 15 states expressed interest in
opening their own chapters. The local club has been busy processing inquiries about opening new
chapters and anticipates increased membership from surrounding states in New England.
In response to heavy demand, IMC CLUB will be upgrading its site to make it easier for interested pilots to
start new chapters. New features will include downloadable materials, agendas and mission checklists. The
site itself will also be upgraded to handle the tremendous increase in traffic.
