Kasturba Centre for Women’s’ Studies, GayatriVidyaParishad College
for Degree and PG Courses (A) in association with IWN (International
Women Network) CII has organized a panel discussion on the occasion of
Womens’ Day at its Rushikonda Campus.Secretary and Correspondant of the
college Sri D. Dakshinamurty presided over the session. Speaking on the
occasion, Ms.Shubhra Sharma (Head, HR, HSBC) said creating equal
opportunities for women is very important. The real challenges for today’s
corporate is to ensure higher participation of women in organized labour.
Innovative HR policies are the need of the hour to increase the percentage of
women participation.
Ms. Poonam Shah Shrinath, Regional Chair Young Indians urged the
girl students to believe in themselves and focus on whatever they wish to
achieve, dream big and nurture a passion to one’s dreams is what she
emphasised.
Mr K V T Ramesh encouraged women to take on more leadership roles
befitting more responsibility and utilize the natural qualities of leadership in
them.
The Director of the Kasturba Centre and also the Convenor (Learning &
Development) for IWN-CII, Prof. S Rajani presented the initiatives taken by
the two bodies towards women empowerment during the year. Ms Gayatri
proposed vote of thanks. Students and staff participated in large number in
the various essay writing, poster making and collage competitions held on the
occasion.
