PRESS NOTE DP World Chennai announces the launch of IFX Service DP World Chennai proudly hosted the launch of IFX Service, India Far East Xpress Service which will link South & East India to South East Asia & Far East ports. The service commenced with Hanjin Florida arriving in Chennai on her maiden call on 11 th September 2014. The IFX service in its new avatar is a milestone reborn for both DP World, Chennai & the consortium partners namely Hanjin Shipping, Simatech Shipping & TS Lines. To commemorate the launch, a function was held on board the vessel on 12 th September 2014. It was presided over by the officials of the Chennai Port Trust, Chief Guest, Chairman Shri. Atulya Mishra, IAS, Traffic Manager, Shri Vaiyapuri & the Deputy Port Conservator Capt. Sinha. The other honored guests invited were CHENSAA Chairman, Shri Arul Lawrance, CCHA President, Shri P.S. Krishnan, & NACFS Chairman, Shri M.S. Arun. Hanjin Shipping, GM Operations (India), Shri Jijo Ouseph & Regional General Manager Shri Sasidharan were delighted on the momentous occasion of launching the direct mainline service. The CEO & Director, DP World Chennai, Shri Ennarasu Karunesan welcomed all the delegates on the occasion of this memorable event and conducted the customary plaque exchange with the Master of the vessel. The weekly service is scheduled to call at Chennai every Thursday and sail out on Saturday. IFX service will deploy 3 x 3600 TEU & 2 x 4500 TEU capacity vessels and operate with the following port rotation: West Bound : Kwangyang > Pusan > Shanghai > Ningbo > Shekou > Singapore > West Port Kelang > Chennai East Bound : Chennai > West Port Kelang > Singapore > Kwangyang > Pusan > Shanghai > Ningbo > Shekou This service also offers a reliable & efficient link to other destinations in China via the direct ports of call North China – Xingang, Qingdao, Dalian, Zhanjiagang, Chongquing, Wuhan, Lianyungang, etc. South China – Hongkong, Huangpu, Xiamen, etc Hanjin Florida on her maiden visit carried imports of 2472 TEUs for discharge comprising major import commodities like machinery, domestic appliances, floor Tiles, furniture etc. The export volume summed up to 1350 TEUs and comprised of commodities being mainly Agro products & Minerals. Shri.Atulya Misra IAS, Chairman – Chennai Port Trust in his address commented “I am once more delighted to commemorate the launch of New IFX Service, today, the 12 th Sept 2014, which incidentally is the 3 rd direct mainline service launched by CCTL in 2014. Chennai Port Trust will provide all necessary support to the vessel operators for increasing the direct mainline services to & from Chennai.” Shri. Vaiyapuri, Traffic Manager – Chennai Port Trust highlighted the connectivity improvements and improved evacuation rate achieved, to & from Chennai Port. Thanking all the stakeholders & Exim Trade members for having supported the positive measures undertaken to resolve the challenges involved. Capt. Sinha, Deputy Conservator – Chennai Port Trust commented on the favorable conditions of Chennai Port and the facilities available enabling the quick turn-around of vessels.

CHENSAA Chairman Arul Lawrence complemented CCTL on the habitual consistency of delivering excellent services to all their members & all stakeholders. He further appreciated the CCT leadership in making CCT the preferred terminal at Chennai. Capt.Anil Singh, Sr.VP & Managing Director, DP World Indian Sub continent welcomed the IFX service being re-launched again at CCTL by reminiscing on the hitherto original launching in 2003. Mr.Jijo Ouseph, General Manager (India) – Operations, Hanjin Shipping (I) Ltd., remarked “Consistent endeavors have been undertaken in delivering & maintaining a reliable product to & from the Far East for the customers by partnering with DP World who share an identical philosophy by delivering reliable terminal operations & services.” Mr. Sasidharan, Regional General Manager – Hanjin Shipping commented ““ New IFX service will further strengthen HANJIN presence and extended service coverage to & from South India and also meet the growing demands of Intra Asia trade .” Mr. Ennarasu Karunesan, CEO & Director, DP World Chennai thanked Hanjin Shipping and the consortium partners Simatech Shipping & TS Lines for their reposed trust in the services offered by DP World Chennai. He further commented “Expansion of the services & product portfolio at CCTL was inevitable with the renewed thrust of Indian economy.
