If you have not signed up to receive you newsletter by email, I urge you to do so. You will receive your newsletter quicker and save the club a bunch. Most people are not aware of the cost of mailing between 1100 and 1200 newsletters. No we cannot mail them for 49 cents; I wish we could. We then would have those considera- ble funds to spend on such things as events and claims acquisition. As it stands now the Club has claims for sale in the Wickenburg area and the Quartzite area. No serious offers yet, but it’s a bit warm to go out to inspect claims at this time if the year. We are also investigating the possibility of acquiring other claims. As these things de- velop we will keep everyone posted, but I would still prefer to send things by email rather than a mass mailing. The Board is considering having another meeting up country in the Mayer area in the same fashion as last year. This will not be a general meeting, but a late summer “get togeth- er”, probably on a Saturday. Food and sodas will be provided. Last year it worked out very well. We are working on it and will let you know. A problem has developed on the Rich Hill claims and I am therefore sending everyone a cautionary warning. The road where a left turn is made at “Decision Corner” on the Weaver Creek Road is now blocked with a gate with a “no trespassing” sign that the owners are en- forcing. We have had some members trying to get to our claims turned back with harsh words from the purported owners or representatives. Our members have all acted in a courte- ous fashion and therefore avoided any unpleasantness. I strongly urge all members act like- wise if confronted with type of a problem wherever it may occur. The Board is now alerted to the problem and we are looking into it to see if we have a right to continue to use the road or must find another way to those claims, if possible. I have prospected in that area for about six years and I am sure other members have prospected on those claims for many years before I first visited them. Nonetheless, we now have a problem and I do not recommend anyone at- tempt to use that road without specific permission from the purported owners. If we have le- gal rights we will assert them, but the Board does not want any harm to come to any person. After all, this is a recreational pastime even though under the law it is clearly mining protect- ed by the 1872 Mining Law. If other members have encountered problems of this nature, please let the Board know. More on this later. In closing, please stay safe out there and make it a good month. Volume 29-7 A Monthly Newsletter Published by the RoadRunner Prospector’s Club July 2015

You will be receiving this newsletter around the 4th of July, possibly a little quicker if you

are receiving your newsletter by email. If you have not signed up to receive you newsletter

by email, I urge you to do so. You will receive your newsletter quicker and save the club a

bunch. Most people are not aware of the cost of mailing between 1100 and 1200 newsletters.

No we cannot mail them for 49 cents; I wish we could. We then would have those considera-

ble funds to spend on such things as events and claims acquisition.

As it stands now the Club has claims for sale in the Wickenburg area and the Quartzite

area. No serious offers yet, but it’s a bit warm to go out to inspect claims at this time if the

year. We are also investigating the possibility of acquiring other claims. As these things de-

velop we will keep everyone posted, but I would still prefer to send things by email rather

than a mass mailing.

The Board is considering having another meeting up country in the Mayer area in the

same fashion as last year. This will not be a general meeting, but a late summer “get togeth-

er”, probably on a Saturday. Food and sodas will be provided. Last year it worked out very

well. We are working on it and will let you know.

A problem has developed on the Rich Hill claims and I am therefore sending everyone a

cautionary warning. The road where a left turn is made at “Decision Corner” on the Weaver

Creek Road is now blocked with a gate with a “no trespassing” sign that the owners are en-

forcing. We have had some members trying to get to our claims turned back with harsh

words from the purported owners or representatives. Our members have all acted in a courte-

ous fashion and therefore avoided any unpleasantness. I strongly urge all members act like-

wise if confronted with type of a problem wherever it may occur. The Board is now alerted to

the problem and we are looking into it to see if we have a right to continue to use the road or

must find another way to those claims, if possible. I have prospected in that area for about six

years and I am sure other members have prospected on those claims for many years before I

first visited them. Nonetheless, we now have a problem and I do not recommend anyone at-

tempt to use that road without specific permission from the purported owners. If we have le-

gal rights we will assert them, but the Board does not want any harm to come to any person.

After all, this is a recreational pastime even though under the law it is clearly mining protect-

ed by the 1872 Mining Law. If other members have encountered problems of this nature,

please let the Board know. More on this later.

In closing, please stay safe out there and make it a good month.

Outings Volunteers Needed To make our club members and guests welcome to the outings we can always use volunteers

to setup RPC direction signs and/or setup an entry point to the outing(s) to greet the members

and guests and pass out RPC literature and/or any other support as needed. Volunteers need

to be at the claim close to sunrise and end no earlier than noon depending on the effort need-

ed. You can volunteer for specific outings, or ongoing, or be on call. To be eligible to be en-

tered into the VIP nugget drawing you must volunteer prior to the outing so we can plan on

your support and activity so our members and guests have a good experience. You do not

need to be present to win a nugget. Contact the RPC office as noted in this newsletter for

more information.

If a member would like to present an activity at any outing such as prospecting equipment

demo’s, mining techniques, where to find the gold, or fun activities at the club picnics for

adults and kids, or whatever you can think of to enhance the outings experience. Volunteers

names are added to the monthly VIP nugget drawings and do not need to be present to win a

nugget. Contact the RPC office as noted in this newsletter for more information. A notice of

the activity will be put in the newsletter prior to the outing(s).

New Memberships Needed The club would like to grow the membership and has agreed to institute a reward system for

any member who recruits new members into the club. Once the new member has officially

joined, the recruiting member will receive a VIP size nugget. The membership application has

been modified to include space for new members to insert the name and badge number of the

member who recommended them to the club. New applications are available at the club office

and will be available at each monthly meeting. Also, business cards will be available at our

meetings which have space for your name and badge number. You can hand these out to any

prospective new member. A link to a printable application can be found on the “How to Join”

page, on the club website: www.roadrunnergold.com.

So, talk to your friends and family who may be interested in prospecting and mining, and

also folks you see out on the claims that are not members. These are your potential candidates

who might have an interest in our club benefits.

Remember to give them your name and badge number in order for you to receive credit and

a shiny VIP .3 dwt nugget.

Your RRPC wants to go green and save you money A large cost for your prospecting club is the monthly newsletter that is printed and mailed to

several hundred members. In order to try and reel in this monthly expense, starting in June, we

are going to electronically send the newsletter to all members who have an E-mail listed in our

files. Not only will we save trees and money, but, we will be able to get the newsletter to you

instantly. Be the first to see and know what is going on in your club, and enjoy the newsletter

in living color.

Please call the office if you do not have an e mail account with us. We will be happy to add

you to our E-Mail list.
