It is an honour to present my first President’s report. I am privileged follow Sue Lear, and I am mindful of her strong, calm and inclusive leadership combined with hands on participation in club activities. Sue also worked with the board and committees to develop our Goals and Strategies 2015. This document provided a clear direction for the club and committees. Fortunately, Sue is not planning to hide away, but rather to use her skills and abilities to further some Zonta activities close to her own heart. In February Marianne Kidd provided us with a most comprehensive presentation of our service projects to assist us as we considered our Service Funding for 2016. I know that I was not the only club member who was reminded so strongly that yes, we are members of a SERVICE organisation. Indeed, our charter describes us as a global organisation of executives and professionals working together to advance the status of women through service and advocacy worldwide. Now that we are in our new biennium, one of the early tasks for committees will be to refine or amend these goals and strategies to reflect our priorities for 2016. We will also need to consider them in the light of the recommendations of the Zonta International Convention in Nice in July.
I have asked Sue Lear to present relevant convention bylaws and agenda items for our consideration at our June meeting so that we may provide club guidance to our delegate in Nice, Jill Welsh. We will hear about the conference experience from Jill on her return at the July meeting and I have extended an invitation to incoming Area 2 Director elect, Pru Blackwell to elaborate on the new directions at one of our subsequent meetings.

We will certainly be facing an exciting and busy year as we embrace the new directions. While we consider our future activities or “What we do” it is timely to spend a little time looking inwards at our club and “How we do it”. Therefore, at our June meeting we will devote some time to considering aspects of our club health. What are we doing well or not so well? What could we be doing even better? How welcoming and inclusive are we to members and guests? How can we become an even more effective club? What helps or hinders us as a club member? Meanwhile our work will not stop and I encourage all available members to participate in the next Birthing Kit Assembly Day at St Joseph’s Education Centre on 30 June. I look forward to the challenges working with the Board and all members as your President as we embrace the coming year. Eronwy

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR AREA 2 TEAM
AS THEY COMPLETE THEIR BIENNIUM
Area 2 Director has been an inspiration and a wonderful resource to all the Clubs in our Area. She has had an able partner in crime with our member Anne Miller as Vice Area Director.
The time was right for promoting social media among the clubs and Nan was just the person we needed.
Area 2 Zontians had the chance to thank Nan at the Area workshop on 14th May, when they gave Nan a beautiful bunch of Singapore orchids. Anne Miller gifted her one of her amazing pictures, which Nan loved
Anne inducted our new Board at the May meeting, and the Club gave token and thanks for her work. She will now join the illustrious list of “Pasties”. I think we may have to coerce Ann to find out more about her pictures.
Something for Flinders Facts Anne?
