President SpeaksDear Friends,

The month of N o v e m b e r

in Rotary signifies ‘Giving’, a reason to celebrate life by sharing what we are blessed with. The great work

happens only because of your contributions to TRF.

The Rotary Foundation has grown over years, drop by drop, by receiving the contributions from people who love to share (just like you), who care and understand the Empathy of Human sufferings & Challenges.

Let’s make The Rotary Foundation stronger by generously contributing, especially more, when our own RI President Kalyanda is representing the helm of Rotary.

Friends, I am proud to say that the Rotarians of our club have very generous & have voluntarily committed handsome contribution for TRF because of compassion to humanitarian sufferings. The Rotary Foundation money is being

used for major projects such as Literacy, Water & Sanitation, Disaster Management, Health & others, which an individual finds very difficult to execute consistently year after year.

Friends, in November we had numerous activities & projects, glimpses of which are available through pictures.

It was a proud moment for the Club on 13th Nov 2011, when the Club President welcomed the Rotary International CEO & General Secretary John Hewko, R.I. TRF Trustee PDG John Germ, R.I. TRF Trustee PDG Ashok Mahajan, Chief Advisor to District 3140 Sajjan Goenka, DG Vijay Jalan along with District Trainer PDG Raju and other District Dignitaries. They visited our Club Polio Centre at Shivaji Nagar Urban Health Centre for Polio Immunization.

The Bal Divas on Children’s Day was celebrated along with 38 Special Children from Sevadhan Special School. They were taken for a Movie & an Outing. On 20th November 28 Children from Shanti orphanage were taken for a picnic at Nishiland waterpark, Panvel. Women Empowerment Dress making

was inaugurated at Kumud Vidhya Mandir English School for 50 ladies & 1st Batch of 20 women for blouse making at Matoshree School by Dist Co-Chair for Women Empowerment Dr Usha Desai.

A joint meeting with neighboring clubs was held on 29th Nov 2011. ACP Traffic Shri Vilas Pawar along with Senior Inspector Shri Hindurao S. spoke about Challenges – Mumbai Traffic.

RCD Co-hosted a seminar on Global Warming & Water Conservation at Thane. RCD also participated in FORCE XI District President’s meet at Powai.

Tranquility Group meet on 19th Nov 2011 at PP Cdr Jana’s residence, as Life is LOVE , Without Love - bliss, peace, happiness, harmony or tranquility have no meaning of existence.

Time flies faster than we think, time to charge ourselves up for future major projects, together with ease & smiles.

RCD welcomes charter member PP Goutam Bhattacharya for December-designated as the family month.

Warm regards,Pres. Dr. Shankar Chawla

Dear fellow Rotarians

An experience to share while attend-ing a Rotary meeting of wellington

club--Newzeland,I did not find any one wearing a PH pin, being this as founda-tion month the quiz reveled to them highest contributing Dist in the world is an Indian dist and India is among the top 4 country, this made me feel very happy. As a Rotarians we get an opportunity to serve the underprivileged by being part of rotary foundation's humanitarian projects such as polio eradication from the face of earth, clean drinking water, education, draught and disaster relief,3H and many more.To accomplish such worthwhile projects, i would sug-gest every Rotarian should contribute at least 1% of their of their earning to rotary foundation to feel them self a worthy and proud RotarianI would like to quote what RI president has mentioned in the Rotary NewsSomeone once asked Sir Moses, one of the wealthiest man of his era, how much he was worth.in the face of such an ill-mannered inquiry,he merely paused for a moment's reflection before naming a

figure-one that fell far short of his ques-tioner's expectations.naturally,it was met with an objection;surely he must be worth 10 times as much ! Sir Moses merely smiled."young man,"he replied,"you didn't ask me how much i own.You asked me how much I am worth. So i calculated how much i have given to charity this year, and that is the

number I gave you.You see ,in life we are worth only what we are willing to share with others."when we say that all human being are equal worth, do our action fallow our words? - Give till it Hearts You

Best Wishes PP Ramesh Mehta
