President (Hinckley, Maine) Seeking a collaborative, strategic and visionary leader with demonstrated success leading organization(s) supporting youth. The successful candidate will lead both Good Will-Hinckley (with a history of over 125 years supporting children and young adults) and the Maine Academy of Natural Sciences (the first charter school in the State of Maine). This position reports to the GWH Board of Directors and the MeANS Board of Directors Critical components of this charge include: Fulfillment and advancement of the mission of GWH/MeANS and its programs Oversight of educational programs; operations; finance; and admissions Forming productive partnerships with private and public interests and agencies Development/Advancement, fund raising, and communications efforts Cultivating a collaborative and transparent organizational culture Successful Leadership Experience Successful experience leading complex not-for-profit organizations serving children and youth. (preferred) Successful management of financial systems, budgeting, facilities development, and fundraising. (required) Administrative experience in strategic planning, assessment/evaluation of staff, institutional changes, and technology implementation. (required) Experience working with legislators, state policy makers, and governmental agencies. (required) Recent and relevant experience as a school administrator. (preferred) Significant experience in creating and sustaining strong academic programs focused on student learning. (preferred) Experience developing partnerships with K-12, four-year institutions, and business and industry. (required) Master’s degree required; earned doctorate preferred. Some Personal and Professional Qualities The President must have the ability and mobility to serve a rural service area; local, regional, and national travel required. Must be able to work on a basis of “available as work demands” in addition to a fixed schedule. Must be available to meet the needs of the institution, regardless of time of day or day of week. (required)
