Early life

Clinton was born on August 19, 1946, at Julia Chester Hospital in Arkansas.

His father, William Jefferson was a traveling salesman who died in an automobile accident three months before Bill was born.

His mother, Virginia Dell Cassidy, traveled to New Orleans to study nursing soon after he was born.

She left Bill in Hope with grandparents, who owned and ran a small grocery store.

College

Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., receiving a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service (B.S.) degree in 1968.

Upon graduation, he won a Rhodes Scholarship to University College, Oxford where he studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics, though because he had switched programs and had left early for Yale University, he did not receive a degree there.

After Oxford, Clinton attended Yale Law School and earned a Juris Doctor degree in 1973.

In a Yale library in 1971 he met a law student Hillary Rodham. And they later married on October 11, 1975, and their only child, Chelsea, was born on February 27, 1980. Bill Clinton and Hillary Rodham at

In 1993 Bill won the presidential election and was ready to start his 4 year term.

Bill won his second-term in 1997.

Bill was done as president in 2001 and now goes to different countries and makes speeches.

Worked to Develop NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement) to eliminate barriers to trade

and investment between the US, Canada and Mexico

At $248.2 billion for Canada and $163.3 billion for Mexico, they were the top two purchasers of US exports in 2010

At $276.4 billion for Canada and $229.7 billion for Mexico, they were the second and third largest suppliers of goods imports to the United States in 2010

Internet The internet emerged as a

major means of communication and commerce.

People were concerned about inappropriate material on the Internet.

The White House tried to pass a law to limit sexually explicit material, but the Supreme Court ruled that it violated the right to freedom of speech.

Achievements

Clinton signed the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 on February 5

Clinton signed the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1993 in August of that year, which passed Congress without a Republican vote. It cut taxes for fifteen million low-income families, made tax cuts available to 90 percent of small businesses, and raised taxes on the wealthiest 1.2 percent of taxpayers.

• The Clinton administration also launched the first official White House website, whitehouse.gov, on October 21, 1994.

• When he left the presidency there was a budgetary surplus of $ 559 billion dollars

Camp David 2000

Clinton brought Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak and Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat together at Camp David. Following the peace talk failures, Clinton stated Arafat "missed the opportunity" to facilitate a "just and lasting peace." In his autobiography, Clinton blames Arafat for the collapse of the summit.
