Order Sons of Italy, Garibaldi Lodge, invites you to sponsor the 33rd Annual Gala Dinner to be held on Saturday, March 16th, 2019 in the York Ballroom at the RBC Convention Centre in Winnipeg. Be awed by our Italian-Canadian culture, wines, cuisine and entertainment. This acclaimed event not only demonstrates the philanthropic spirit of Sons of Italy, but also the caring and giving that Winnipeggers, their businesses and leaders are known for.

The Bruce Oake Recovery Centre operates as a registered not for profit organization, with charitable status and provides addiction treatment as well as the resources and skills necessary to successfully re-enter society. There is a significant need for a treatment facility of this nature in Winnipeg and Manitoba. Existing treatment facilities have waiting lists in excess of 5 weeks or more. We aim to significantly reduce the wait for treatment for those in need.

The Bruce Oake Recovery Centre is the first male only, addiction treatment facility in Manitoba to offer in-patient primary and secondary treatment, as well as, a post-treatment supportive living program.

The program incorporates cognitive behavioural therapies, family systems therapy and life skills training. Employment and education are among the modalities employed to address the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of personhood and wholeness.

The Bruce Oake Recovery Centre offers residential and day programs, providing tools that support behaviour change, now and in the future. Clients who want to make a change towards an abstinence-based lifestyle are accepted, regardless of background or ability to pay. Funds donated by the Sons of Italy are allocated specifically to the Bruce Oake Memorial Fund, to aid in the building of the Bruce Oake Recovery Centre.

The 33rd Annual Gala is in support of The Bruce Oake Recovery Centre, a long-term, residential treatment centre for adult males suffering from drug and alcohol addiction.

FOOD LIKE ONLY ITALIANS CAN DOGreat food is a hallmark of any Sons of Italy event. As always Italian will be the theme: antipasto, salad, pasta and main entree followed by dessert. Premium wines will accompany the dinner. In the reception area after dinner will be an Espresso and Pastry Bar.
