• Ensure an integrated and coordinated approach to disaster management and emergency related services for 2010 and beyond.
• Co-ordinate stakeholders for management of provincial emergency services and disaster management before and during World Cup 2010.
• Prepare the disaster management and emergency services plan for 2010FWC to comply with the Safety at Sports and Recreation Events Bill and FIFA Safety Guidelines.

The PDMC building will be the hub for communication and will include:• Data collection and data capturing;• Information dissemination and communication.

Transportation
• The FS Transport management has identified 12 halfway emergency centres.
• Contingency plans for traffic management has been developed and tested for the host city and the province

FS-Emergency Medical Services
• Entered into MOU with the Northern Cape;• Currently there are 217 ambulances in the FS;
35 new additional ambulances have been procured and will be delivered by December 2009
• Emergency prepared plan for 2010FWC has been developed for EMS and hospitals
• Volunteers will be recruited to assist when the need arises

Fire Brigade Services
• Mangaung LM purchased two major fire rescue pumpers
• People trained on Hazmat ;• Fire engines will be on standby at the venue and
other areas of importance during 2010FWC• A Fire station has been constructed in Warden
and will be operational by June 2010.• Operation plan for the stadium has also been
developed

Other Considerations• Department of Social Development hasmade preparations for alternativeaccommodation during disasters and emergency situations
• A human trafficking plan developed. • Data on H1N1 will be monitored.• BCOCC information will also be taken intoaccount especially on neighbouring borders
