INTRODUCTIONCurrently, there are 3 eating opinion on

campus. site map & photoDemand for food is depending on students

and staffs needs and wantsAccording to ABS, there is significant growth

of people undertaking further and higher education

Considering above aspects, comprehensive research on the feasibility of opening another cafeteria in TAFE is taken up

OBJECTIVES OF THE RESEARCHPrimary objective is to determine the

feasibility of starting up another café business in Ultimo TAFE College

Secondary objective is to engage and provide students and staff with the opportunity to offer feedback on what their preferences in food and drink as well as suggestion on the availability of places and their perception of current food options

This research can be useful for investors or people having the same interest in similar business

STUDY METHODS, SAMPLING AND DATA COLLECTIONThis research is based on primary and

secondary data collected between March and April, 2012

Primary data is collected through a questionnaire survey conducted on campus

Secondary data is collected from Australia Bureau of Statistics (ABS) , Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA), economic & trading research website and printed books & materials

A random sample of people in the college is selected, a total of people participated in the study. The sample consisted of about 50% male and 50% female

of 2012 Graph Interest Rates - cuts to 3.75% (effective from 2nd

Half people rarely use cafeteria, more than 30% people use it depending on how many days they go to TAFE

CONCLUSIONBased on the findings of survey, it can be

concluded that having another cafeteria on Campus is not viable at this moment

Reasons: 1) Only 27.5% of respondents agreed to

consider having another cafeteria 2) Already has plenty of places and there

are repetitive food options on campus

RECOMMENDATIONInvest in opening a brand new dining

option which offers other types of food products that are not available on site

By introducing a flexible and extended hours of operation of our proposed eatery

The proposed eatery could have enough customers to survive if it is unique, providing tasty food and with good reputation
