My Finished soap magazine front cover and inspiration magazine.

Page 2: Presentation1

This was the layout/format that I stuck to when creating my own front cover. I choose to copy the layout of a existing magazine so that the magazine I created looked realistic. My inspiration magazine was Total TV Guide. Their magazine covers more than 90 channels every week, all in a clear, colour coded and easy- to- follow format. It is spread over 10 pages per day and the detailed programme information has been specially designed to help you get the most enjoyment from your digital TV viewing.

By using the tool at the side of the picture, I was able to flip my image so that the stars swapped sides. This was done so that it was made more suitable for my front cover as I was adding a box over the image for more features and it would of blocked the star ‘Paul.’

My main image after being photoshopped.

DECONSTRUCTION ANCHORING•Main feature ‘ Doctor Stalker’ is anchored onto stars•Hollyoaks is written in bold on main image – instantly we know what soap they are from•Name of programme, channel and time – gives the audience easy access to show

TEXT•All text except from the strapline is lowercase – grammatically correct. Gives the correct mode of address for a mature reader

TEXT•Stars are famous enough to not need their names in big letters.•‘Hollyoaks’ is enough for the readers to understand what soap the stars are from

IMPROVEMENTS•The sub heading under ‘Doctor Stalker’ could be more clear to read – text is not clear enough•In Strapline or masthead, the website could be included for more brand loyalty and ways to access the brand
