• 8 months prior to opening of Republic Polytechnic for the first semester, integrated solution from main IT systems consultants and contractors were already proving inadequate for RP’s goal of Totally Wireless Learning Environment.

• Management spelt out new set of objectives : - Additional functions with a lower price. - To retain projectors already in place. - To eliminate cabling and subsequent costs (replacement, maintenance, support)

Innovation Award (Bronze) 2006: Integrated Wireless Infrastructure

– On 15 November 2006, Republic Polytechnic (RP) received the much coveted TEC Public Service Innovation Award (Bronze) Award from Minister Teo Chee Hean at the award presentation ceremony at HDB Hub.

– This year, only 12 organizations received the TEC Award, and RP is the only educational institution in Singapore to be awarded this honor. Over more than 200 organizations were assessed and evaluated for this award.
