Target ReadershipThe target audience for my magazine is aimed for 17-24 year olds and both sexes. The readers are still in education studying at college or university.

The readers of the magazine will be students at college or university. Some of the readers will have part time jobs allowing them to buy the magazine. Parents of readers will fall into C1 – D socioeconomic grouping. Some readers will rely on their parents for finance.

Readers enjoy purchasing new Indie Rock songs off ITunes. Sometimes readers enjoy buying the physical CD from shops. Readers like to keep up with the latest fashion and indie style fashion. Readers enjoy shopping at Topshop, Topman, River island, etc..

The readers of the magazine are explorers. They like to seek individualism and have the energy to try different things. Readers love exploring new brands and creating a new style.

The majority of the readers have loyalties to brands such as Vans, Ray Bans, Converse. Readers enjoy buying brands that express their style. Readers enjoy having a unique style that isn’t too outrageous or timid.

Form and Style

IndieKicks is a music magazine that focuses on Indie rock/pop music. It contains music artist interviews, tour dates, music reviews, free posters and advertisement of new CDs/songs released.

The central image for the magazine uses popular bands and artists. Such as Noah and the Whale, Coldplay and Lana Del Rey. The magazine will use new upcoming artists as the central image as well. By having a mixture of new artists and well know artists it allows the magazine to show interest in helping new artists but still includes well know artists.

The coverlines will feature different artists that are included inside to show IndieKicks is an exclusive magazine. Coverlines will be spread around the front cover to show that the magazine is packed with lots of exciting features. By spreading the coverlines around it shows the magazine is good value for money.

The magazine will the same styled font on each front cover creating a house style. By creating the magazine a brand identity it will allow readers to recognise it on shop shelves . The masthead will also be in the same font to create the magazines brand identity.

The magazine will sell at £1.50, an average price for young peoples music magazine. By making the magazine affordable it will allow the magazine to be desirable.

Themes and Typical Features

IndieKicks will have regular features in each issue. Each issue will include an interview with an artist, tour dates, music reviews and advertisement of new CDs/songs.

The main focus of each issue will be the interviews with artists. Each issue will have a different artist interviewed. Interviews with artists are exclusive to IndieKicks only and readers can only get these interviews from this magazine.

IndieKicks will have competitions in each issue allowing readers to win varies of prizes. Prizes will vary from winning tickets to a gig to winning CDs. The competition questions will be based on the artist featured in that issue.

The language used will be familiar to the target audience. By doing this it will appeal to the audience and make the magazine interesting and exciting for them.

IndieKicks will offer free posters to interest the readers. The free posters will be of popular artists at the moment, saving the readers going out and buying the poster.

Editorial Team

The editorial team of IndieKicks will be experienced writers and designers. They will have knowledge on music and will understand music technical terms.

The team will be made up of men and women around the age of 25 and over. The aim of the team is to make the magazine popular and exciting. The aim of the team as well is to get as many readers as possible.

The team will be confident and will bring new ideas for each issue to make this a successful magazine.
