S3IDF as Social Merchant Banker• S3IDF has developed the “Social Merchant Banker

Model”, to train Local Entrepreneurs (LE) in technical and managerial skills

• To assist in setting up a Sale cum Service Enterprise to deploy lighting and cooking implements.

• To provide livelihoods through various skill development programmes to get value addition to the products and enterprise setting assistance from concept to commissioning.

Technology Selected S3IDF does not develop or demonstrate a specific Renewable Energy

Technology. S3IDF selects appropriate Technology for each need and tries the best

Deployment methodologies. It identifies the optimal combination of practices for universal and

accelerated adoption of RETs. Adopts proven as well as evolving technologies for deployment in clusters

of rural habitations. Clusters selected would be a Mandal or selected villages within a Mandal Proven Technologies selected for deployment would include:1. Solar LED Home-lights2. S3IDF deploys the RET devices Through ESCs & EDCs1. It gives the business plan for each entity under the project and assists in modifying the

business plan from time to time to suit the requirements.2. Provides training and capacity building to the Executives and Staff of Enterprises.3. Identifies the best sources of supply of technology and raw-materials as required.4. Assists in the negotiations with the bank and suppliers.5. Provides continuous business development suggestions.6. Provides “hand holding” assistance till the business entities are able to look after their

interest by themselves.
