Effect On Air

Pesticides and herbicides can contribute to air pollution if they become suspended in the air and wind carries them to another

destination. Wind has a high chance of carrying sprayed or applied pesticide and herbicide as dust towards nearby crops or wildlife.

Pesticide and herbicide used to fumigate soil can give off chemicals called volatile organic compounds, which reacts with

other chemicals to create ozone, a harmful effects substance that affects the respiration in both animals and humans.
