INTRODUCTION• I did this work with the idea that you can see what's new in

running Windows 8 and the differences with its predecessor Windows 7.

The launch of Windows 8 is special because not remember many changes from one version of Windows over the previous since the advent of Windows 95 that was very different compared to Windows 3.1 18 years ago.

1· A BIG DIFFERENCE:

• The Start menu is now the Start screen. This system consists of icons of applications that can be grouped into folders or windows and when you click on them, they run.

The Windows 8 Start screen.

2· THE WINDOWS KEY:

The key with the Windows logo that was previously only used to activate the Start menu, it is now essential to navigate between the different screens of Windows 8 with the keyboard. In Windows 8 this key serves to switch between the modern and the traditional interface.

3· THE OLD DESKTOP IS DEAD:

• With the addition of the Start screen, the old Windows desktop is gone. To view the desktop with its classic appearance must first pass through the new interface and enable traditional interface.

4· TURN OFF YOUR COMPUTER IS NOT SO SIMPLE NOW:

• To turn off the computer now with Windows 8 must move the cursor (or slide your finger) to the right corner of the screen where there are the "charms", you just have to click on "settings" and then "power".

Before with Windows 7 turn off the computer was so easy as going to the toolbar, click Start and select Shut down.

5· RIBBONS IN WINDOWS 8:

• The ribbons of Microsoft Office 2007 are now used in the Windows 8 Explorer. Is a graphical interface composed of a band at the top of the window which shows the functions that Explorer can make and is a fairly simple way to use the file manager functions.

7· THE MOVEMENTS IN TOUCHSCREENS:• The hidden menu system or “charm” appears from the right side while on the left we see

the last application open as a window with the option to attach it to the side for divide the workspace. The options menu appears when you slide your finger on the upper side of the screen, if you keep sliding your finger down to the bottom closes the open application.

8· THE START TIME HAS BEEN REDUCED:• Windows 8 may be initiated at 7 or 8 seconds so you no longer have time to press the

button to enter the BIOS menu, because the kernel is left in hibernation mode.Windows 8 is 55% faster than Windows 7.

The shutdown system of Windows 8 is four times faster than that Windows 7.

CONCLUTION• Although a system with too revolutionary changes and that at first seems a bit

strange, Windows 8 has a big power when compared with its predecessor Windows 7 and certainly others will eventually gaining operating systems as happened with Windows 7 when it appeared.
