TheNinkyprospectisacombinedstructuraldipandstratigraphicpinch‐outtrapwithmultiplereservoirhorizonswithintheBarremianF2andF3zones.Themaintargetshavebeenmappedusingseismicreservoircharacterisationtechniquesandarecorrelatedtotherecentlydrilled14/15‐1,1Zand14/15‐2wells.Thesandsareexpectedtobeupto20mthickandaredepositedwithinarich,oil‐pronesourceinterval.Preliminarygeochemicalsamplingfromthe14/15‐1Zwellsuggestthatthetopoftheoilgenerationwindowisaround2400m.Thisallowsdirectcommunicationbetweenthehydrocarbonkitchenandthereservoirsandsinthedeepestpartofthebasin.Hydrocarbonswouldmigrateup‐dipandbesealedbytheencasinglacustrineshales.Themaingeologicalriskisassociatedwiththeeffectivenessofthehydrocarboncharge,giventhatthereservoirhorizonsareneartheupperlimitoftheoilgenerationzone.
