The Destroyers
Design
Built on the Dragon 12 board
Used as a household security system
Used IR Sensor & DIP Switches
LEDs and speaker for the security phases
Keypad to input password
How it works?
Device can be installed on the wall with power device connected.
First setup is to have user input set the activation password
Then, allows user to start in the armed phase or activation phase
When in armed phase the IR sensor will detect when someone is near and for class purposes the DIP switches to show purpose towards different detection sensors
When detected the device will play a song and flash lights till user toggles switch four to allow the user to input the password that was set during activation
If password is incorrect the counter will give the user five tries till it locks a given time, while deactivating the user gets a noise for each time the password is incorrect
Targeted Markets This security system will target people who
own households, motels, hotels and small businesses
For people who want an easy use product without the monthly charge
Customer Expectations
Customers want a stable and reliable product to keep them protected
They want a user friendly system that is easily understandable
An affordable system without monthly charges
Good customer service to help them solve issues with the product
Fulfilling Customer Needs
We will test our protect with every aspect known and allow free testing of beta prototypes of our system to receive more information
The system will be user friendly with easy to understand step by step instructions with a informative manual that gives step by step instructions to use our security system.
Cost Analysis
The cost of the Dragon 12 board is $159.99
We would replace this with an Arduino Uno microcontroller board $24.99, separate IR sensors for $8.99, serial LCD display for $14.95, keypad for $3.95, and speaker jack to hook into home speaker system
Benefits include smaller system, cheaper price and will be easier to upgrade.
Would need time to rewrite code methods to the right ports of the system
Competitors
Strengths and Weaknesses
Easy to use system
Extra parameters to catch user errors
Not enough IR Sensors
Timing of program
Long-term Goals
To make our prototype into a useable product for the everyday household.
Meet the standards for a household security system
Improve our prototype to be cheaper, faster and more user friendly towards everyday tasks.
Add an arm to launch dodge balls
