Universitas Gadjah Mada is the oldest
university in Indonesia, founded 19th
December 1949.

centers, Gadjah Mada offers 68

Sustainable Development Activities

UNIVERSITAS GADJAH MADA
Green BicycleUGM provides hundreds of bicycles to be borrowed by students, staffs, or public in campus area
Electricity Fueled-CarThe car would serve disabled people, the elderly, VIP
guests and other members of the campus community
who were unable to walk or ride a bicycle. The vehicle
could travel up to 80 kilometers on a single charge
using only 20 percent of the fuel needed by a
conventional car.
Wisdom ParkAn open green area equipped with various eco-
friendly facilities, the project is part of the
university’s efforts to become a green campus.
This project is still being constructed.
IR Green Week
We make program to increase the awarness of people (adult
and children) about the importance of keeping the
environment and your own healthy.
Main program: Fun bike, sustainable development exhibition,
green-drawing competition, green canteen, competition,
blood donation.
International Day of PeaceEach year the International Day of Peace is observed around the
world on 21 September. The General Assembly has declared this as
a day devoted to strengthen the ideals of peace, both within and
among all nations and people.
We celebrate by doing Peace Parade to promote “the peace” among
people.
Main programmes: peace parade, peace seminars, charity funds,
and human poster.
DREaM (International Student
Summer Program)UGM DREaM 2014 starts with a series of
public lectures, internships in several
institutions, several social and cultural
workshops, and ends with the whole new
experience of community service and
cultural excursions around Yogyakarta
itself.
