A European Nautical Tourism Route that revolves around

the extraordinary history and cultural heritage of ancient

and modern European maritime civilizations and societies.

2_ WHAT IS CURIOSEATY? | VISION

_ Core Project objectives

To develop a trans-national Nautical Tourism Route around the theme of European Nautical and Sub-Aquatic Cultural Heritage, building on the existing structures, expertise and strengths of European nautical destinations with a rich past of maritime history & culture.

To contribute to the diversification and competitiveness of the European tourism offer, strengthening the position of Europe as a "first-choice" destination for nautical and water sports in the internal and international tourism markets.

_ What will it offer Tourists and Visitors?

Information regarding destinations, sites of interest and experiences (available offer of Tourism products, including supporting services – hotels, hostels, restaurants, etc.) that will allow them to practice nautical sports while while thriving in Europe’s rich and diverse maritime culture and heritage.

_ What will it do for European Tourism Destinations?

Give visibility to the rich maritime heritage that can be experienced in Europe’s nautical tourism destinations.

Facilitate the development of new nautical tourism experiences that attract new visitors to European coastal tourism Destinations.

Build a strong business case for co-operation amongst nautical tourism destinations.

4_ STAKEHOLDER WORKSHOP| DUNKERQUE, FRANCE (JUNE 2015)

Workshop objectives:

• To reflect on the value of Maritime Heritage as a strategic resource for nautical destinations.

• To present Project Curioseaty to relevant stakeholders and exchange information on the opportunities, challenges and future dynamics of the Route.

• To gather ideas and feedback from key stakeholders for consideration on the future Business & Management Plan and on the Marketing Strategy of the Route.

• To share ideas, identify synergies and develop connections with other European Tourism thematic routes.

• To present the future Route to the media, providing them with a graphic summary of its initial itinerary, content and components.

• When: June 24th and 25th

• Where: Dunkerque (France)

• Host: France Station Nautique

• Expected attendants: 80 representatives from public authorities, institutions, businesses and professionals linked to nautical tourism.
