Juneberry at UVMC seeks to create a welcoming space in which singers can deepen skills within a mutually supportive choral com-munity. Some of our singers are very experienced, some are choir firsties, and most are somewhere in the middle. Our practices are filled with laughter, hard work, and both silliness and neuron-build-ing challenges. The health and community-building benefits of choral singing are well-documented, but experiencing them through Juneberry is far more rewarding than just reading the research.
Don’t hesitate to ask a chorus member for their story over food
after the concert. Learn more online at www.juneberrymusic.com. If you are so inspired, please consider joining us for our spring term, which runs from January 29-May 28, culminating in our Memorial Day concert, “Witness”. You can preregister online (www.uvmusic.org) or the Upper Valley Music Center during office hours. You’re welcome to sit in on the first rehearsal to check it out before making a decision.
Thank you for joining us this afternoon, sharing your voice and
your pleasure in making music. Today wouldn’t be as wonderful without you, hunkering down and cozy-ing up, with us!

Imagine in a winter dusk gathering at a friend’s house… and the blizzard arrives! You’re snowed in -- time to hunker down and cozy up, eat and drink, tell stories, flirt, have philosophical conversa-tions, dance a little, make some music, and finally settle in for the night with a prayer and a lullaby. Best wishes for winter coziness to all of you from all of us!

Greetings from Juneberry Steering CommitteeThe initial idea for the Juneberry Community Chorus at UVMC was conceived by a group of students studying with Patricia Norton in the Juneberry Music choral sing-ing school. These students felt that it would be fun and challenging to be a part of a
larger, community based group. There were, however, some very specific stipulations including, no auditions, an ability to match pitch, a non-threatening atmosphere, and a good sense of humor. Our chorus is a non-auditioned, welcoming four-part chorus for men and women whose main purpose is to help adults of all ages find their voices while singing an eclectic mix of music. We are grateful to Patricia for her brilliant (and patient) teaching and directing and to the Upper Valley Music Center for partnering
with us. We invite all of you to come and sing, learn, and have fun with us! Read more about us at: www.juneberrymusic.com

As you can see from the lengthy list in the program of singers and sponsors, this joyous singing group would not be happening without the energy, money, and good will of dozens of people. I am so grate-ful to be part of this project. I would like to particularly acknowledge Vicky Nooe, for her musicality, good humor, and clarity, and my hus-band, Tom Norton, for all the extra behind-the-scenes support without which this wouldn’t be happening!
