Warm Up

• Open up your Research Project folder on Google Drive and open today’s PPT off of Moodle

Objectives

• Properly format title page, essay and bibliography

• Know how to submit their final paper via Turnitin.com on Moodle and Google Drive

Title Page Format• This page is double spaced and

the letters are centered.• Type the name of your school –

American Community School at Beirut

• Skip to about one-third of the page and type your research paper title, include a subtitle if you have one.

• Skip several lines down and type your name, your course name and section number, your instructor’s name and your paper’s due date.

Works Cited PageLast Page of Paper – It is its own separate page-Alphabetical order-Indent all lines of a citation after first line

Formatting Your Final Paper• Double-space the text of your paper, and use Times New Roman

font.• The font size should be 12 pt.• Leave only one space after periods or other punctuation marks.• Set the margins of your document to 1 inch on all sides.• Indent the first line of paragraphs one half-inch from the left

margin. MLA recommends that you use the Tab key.• Create a header that numbers all pages consecutively in the upper

right-hand corner, one-half inch from the top and flush with the right margin. Do not include a page number on your title page.

• Use italics throughout your essay for the titles of longer works and, only when absolutely necessary, providing emphasis.

Submission Instructions

• Google Drive: In your “Research Project” folder – place a complete final version of your paper, including title page and works cited page, into a document labeled “Last Name – Final Research Paper”

• Turnitin.com: From Google Drive, export your document to Microsoft Word. Save your document with the same title as on Google Drive. Upload that document to the proper class section through the Turnitin.com link on Moodle.
