C A R E E R T E C H N I C A L E D U C AT I O N S T U D E N T E N R O L L M E N T P R O C E S S :

1. Students take an interest survey assessment online during their CTE courses. in both 8th and 10th grade to gain an insight on the student’s career preference and interest. 2. Students will be presented with a video representing CTE available courses. The CTE video can be seen online through the department website at www.mcallenisd.org.3. Students participate in a Pre-Registration Workshop where they plan their CTE pathway. Students sign up for CTE elective courses with CTE counselor. Note: Some courses may have limited spaces, in which case a counselor will interview the student during the application process for the desired CTE course. If the student was not accepted due to availability, a student may be placed on a waiting list.

A P P L I C AT I O N P R O C E S S :

1. CTE applications are available in the counselors’ office as well as on the CTE website.2. Students need to submit application by deadline (TBA)3. Applications will be reviewed by the teacher for the course.4. Students will be granted interviews based on application.5. After interviews, students and alternates are selected. All other students will be placed on a waiting list.6. Students are then notified with a letter of acceptance.
