Class Formation in PrepThere are 7 Chinese Studies classes in Prep.
There are no levels among the 7 classes.
There are about 17 to 18 children in each Chinese class, as compared to 20 in Homerooms.

A Yellow paper folder with a storybook will be sent home for reading during weekends

$150 is to be paid for any lost book

Introducing QR code
1. Download “QR code reader” apps from your mobile phone
2. Scan the code on the reading book
3. Start to listen as frequent as you can

Reading ProgrammeReading programme aims at building up students’ reading habit and interests.
Please remind your child to read.
Please sign the reading log and remind he/she return the book on every Monday with their red bags.
* Every Tuesday, our class goes to the library in Chinese time. Please also remind your child to bring the Chinese library book back on Monday.

How are students assessed?The teachers will be observing the children throughout the year during the learning and teaching process, in order to assess their development in terms of Listening & Speaking, Reading and Writing skills.
Observation will be carried out while the kids are singing and saying rhymes, having simple conversation, doing role plays, being engaged in reading simple books, recognizing words taught, etc.

How do you support?Listen to your kid reading books, singing songs and saying rhymes at home. Help your kid with QR code.
Encourage your kid to share what he/she has learnt.
Review & play with the flash cards at home.
Remind your kid to bring back the Red bag ( reading folder & Worksheet folder) on Mondays or after holidays.
Read the storybooks with your kid at the weekends after the Reading Programme starts.
Visit my blog with your kid for resources. eg. Quizlet
