Songs of Trust and Lament
10,000 REASONS (Bless the Lord)
Bless the Lord, O my soul.
O my soul, worship His holy name.
Sing like never before, O my soul.
I'll worship Your holy name.
The sun comes up, it's a new day dawning.
It's time to sing Your song again.
Whatever may pass and whatever lies before me,
Let me be singing when the evening comes.
You're rich in love and You're slow to anger.
Your name is great and Your heart is kind.
For all Your goodness I will keep on singing,
Ten thousand reasons for my heart to find.
And on that day when my strength is failing,
The end draws near and my time has come,
Still my soul will sing Your praise unending,
Ten thousand years and then forevermore.
Yes, I will worship Your holy name
Lord, I worship Your holy name.

Scripture – Psalm 32:1-7, 9-10
Blessed is the one
whose transgressions are forgiven,
whose sins are covered.
Blessed is the one
whose sin the LORD does not count against them
and in whose spirit is no deceit.
When I kept silent,
my bones wasted away
through my groaning all day long.
For day and night
Your hand was heavy on me;
my strength was sapped
as in the heat of summer.
Then I acknowledged my sin to You
and did not cover up my iniquity.
I said, “I will confess
my transgressions to the LORD.”
And You forgave
the guilt of my sin.
Therefore let all the faithful pray to You
while You may be found;
surely the rising of the mighty waters
will not reach them.
You are my hiding place;
You will protect me from trouble
and surround me with songs of deliverance.
Do not be like the horse or the mule,
which have no understanding
but must be controlled by bit and bridle
or they will not come to you.
Many are the woes of the wicked,
but the LORD’s unfailing love
surrounds the one who trusts in Him.

LORD, FROM SORROWS DEEP I CALL (Psalm 42)
Lord, from sorrows deep I call
When my hope is shaken.
Torn and ruined from the fall,
Hear my desperation.
For so long I’ve pled and prayed,
“God, come to my rescue.”
Even so the thorn remains.
Still my heart will praise You.
Storms within my troubled soul,
Questions without answers.
On my faith these billows roll.
God, be now my shelter.
Why are you cast down, my soul?
Hope in Him who saves you.
When the fires have all grown cold,
Cause this heart to praise You.
Should my life be torn from me,
Every worldly pleasure,
When all I possess is grief,
God, be then my treasure.
Be my vision in the night.
Be my hope and refuge.
'Til my faith is turned to sight,
Lord, my heart will praise You.
Oh, my soul, put your hope in God.
My help, my rock, I will praise Him.
Sing, oh sing, through the raging storm,
“You're still my God, my salvation.”

Worship Through Giving
Musical Offering
For the One – P. McClure and J. Johnson
Let me be filled
With kindness and compassion for the one,
The one for whom You loved and gave Your Son.
For humanity increase my love.
Help me to love with open arms like You do,
A love that erases all the lines and sees the truth.
Oh, that when they look in my eyes
They would see You,
Even in just a smile
They would feel the Father’s love.
Oh, how You love us,
From the homeless to the famous and in-between.
You formed us, You made us carefully,
‘Cause in the end, we’re all Your children.

Help me to love with open arms like You do,
A love that erases all the lines and sees the truth.
Oh, that when they look in my eyes
They would see You,
Even in just a smile
They would feel the Father’s love.
Let all my life tell of who You are,
And the wonder of Your never-ending love.
Let all my life tell of who you are.
You’re wonderful and such a good Father.
Let all my life tell of who You are,
And the wonder of Your never-ending love.
Let all my life tell of who you are.
You’re wonderful and such a good Father.
You are wonderful and such a Father.
So help me to love with open arms like You do,
A love that erases all the lines and sees the truth.
Oh, that when they look in my eyes
They would see You,
Even in just a smile
They would feel the Father’s love.

Scripture – I Peter 3:8-12, 4:7-11
Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one
another, be compassionate and humble. Do not repay evil with
evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with
blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a
blessing. For,
6
“Whoever would love life
and see good days
must keep their tongue from evil
and their lips from deceitful speech.
They must turn from evil and do good;
they must seek peace and pursue it.
For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous
and His ears are attentive to their prayer,
but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”
The end of all things is near. Therefore be alert and of sober mind so
that you may pray. Above all, love each other deeply, because love
covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another
without grumbling.
Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve
others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If
anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words
of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God
provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus
Christ.
To Him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.
Song of Faith
BUILD MY LIFE
Worthy of ev'ry song we could ever sing,
Worthy of all the praise we could ever bring,
Worthy of ev'ry breath we could ever breathe,
We live for You.
7
Jesus, the name above ev'ry other name,
Jesus, the only one who could ever save,
Worthy of ev'ry breath we could ever breathe,
We live for You. Oh, we live for you.
Holy, there is no one like You,
There is none beside You.
Open up my eyes in wonder.
Show me who You are,
And fill me with Your heart,
And lead me in Your love to those around me.
I will build my life upon Your love.
It is a firm foundation,
I will put my trust in You alone,
And I will not be shaken.
I will build my life upon Your love.
It is a firm foundation,
I will put my trust in You alone,
And I will not be shaken.
Holy, there is no one like You,
There is none beside You.
Open up my eyes in wonder.
Show me who You are,
And fill me with Your heart,
And lead me in Your love to those around me.
Holy, there is no one like You,
There is none beside You.
Open up my eyes in wonder.
Show me who You are,
And fill me with Your heart,
And lead me in Your love to those around me.

Praying together
Sunday Morning Prayer — Please join us in praying for the family of George Floyd, as well as the many other victims of police misconduct, for our community, our nation, and the world, as protests and unrest continue. Pray that the systemic racism and injustice that has plagued our nation since its inception will be addressed fully and sincerely, that there will be true repentance, and that genuine healing and reconciliation will be the fruit produced. Pray that God would use the pain and the anger currently being expressed to draw people to Himself as the ultimate source of truth and justice.
“But let justice roll on like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream!”
Amos 5:24
10
Continue to pray with us for all affected by the current COVID-19 crisis — for those who have been infected and are ill, or will be soon; for the medical workers at the front lines of treating the ill and the dying; for those making critical decisions throughout our nation and others as well as in our local communities; for all whose lives are being upended, fearing for their jobs, for the income they depend on, for their education or that of their children, for loved ones who are at risk. Pray that people throughout the world would unite and work together through this crisis, and that many would turn to the Lord and hear the Gospel with new understanding. We lift before the Lord our praises and our prayers for everything that is happening, for all the many unknowns our world is now faced with, knowing that He remains sovereign over all, that He loves us beyond measure, and that He will never leave us alone.
Friends with health concerns — Please continue in prayer for: Wendell Amstutz, John Fitz, Darrel Moe, Doris Mulholland, Jerry Nau, Karen Padgett, Jordan Padgett, Tim Robeck, Eemou See, and Ray Wiens.
Praying Scripture for our church leaders — We are praying for Larry Orth, Pastor of Care and Community Outreach, using Psalm 119:133 as a guide: “Direct Larry’s footsteps according to your word; let no sin rule over him.”
Praying for our missionaries — for Kyle and Cassie Hellevang (Cru, serving the Fargo/Moorhead area): Kyle had to transition to online meetings and discipleship with Covid restrictions, while Cassie had already been working online with a team spread across the country. Pray for them as they start a new summer routine and recharge spiritually and relationally. Pray especially that they will add many more ministry partners and that their financial needs will be met.
