Page 2: Preliminary task powerpoint

Masthead- placed slightly behind the image but is still readable. Follows conventions and is biggest thing on the cover

Mode of addressDirectly address with the question. Also says words like ‘YOUR’ and ‘MEET’- makes the reader feel like they’re being directly addressed

Central Image- Picture of a student, relatable. Also the colour of her shirt matches the colour of the masthead,

typical conventions- matching colours.

Buzz word- ‘Exclusive’ persuading to buy as it seems it is the only magazine to cover this story

Cover lines-Second biggest, following typical conventions

Masthead- placed behind the image which leaves a large part of it unreadable, but it is obviously a well-recognised brand as people can still recognise. It follows the conventions of magazine, it being the biggest thing on the page.

Colour- main titles are in the same green colour, less important titles/articles in white

Slogan- ‘your exclusive guide to everything hip, hot & happening’ draws the viewer in with alliteration and ‘exclusive’ – it is brand new information just in this magazine.

Central Image- A student, relatable to the target audience

Anchorage- the splatter of paint, relates to the paintballing text

Pug- ‘the secret’ entices reader and makes them feel as if they’re getting in on a secret

Placed carefully to draw attention to the page, bright vibrant colours of the sun lotion, more attractive

Recycled paper logos: I think these magazines have included the recycled logos as education institutes are big promoters of recycling and how to make the world a better place, these logos help with there promotion to make the world a better place, one example of this being recycling paper.

Contact information is placed on the contents page as this is the most relevant place, the contact information is needed so that the audience can submit their input and give feedback back to the magazine.

Regulars & Special features sub-headings: The two separate sub-headings are important to determine what the audience could expect in every issue of the magazine and what is a one off article

Welcome note which is used as an introduction wrote by the editor giving an insight into a few of the main articles inside the magazine, this is a good idea as it gives our warmth to the reader and makes them feel more involved.
