Critical Reflection

1. In shot 1 when wide shot was used it helped establish the setting, by adding emphasis on it. Since it was in the beginning of a scene, it was a crucial component on establishing the environment. In the T.V. show, “the Carrie Diaries”, a wide shot was used. It took place in the beginning of the scene to establish the setting to be at school. It also added emphasis that the character was by himself on a bench. In addition, in shot 3 a two shot was used. In “the Carrie Diaries”, a two shot was used when both characters were on the bench outside of school. It established their relationship as boyfriend and girlfriend. In my project, the characters were in a relationship with each other, and you were able to tell by the shot types and the acting skills.

2. My production skills greatly improved because I became more comfortable with the camera. I learned to always have a backup plan so that if something were to go wrong I would be ready for it. In addition, learned that in order to take semi- decent pictures I would have to make myself go into uncomfortable positions. It is always best to not procrastinate and get your work done ASAP.

3. I was able to integrate technology in this project through cameras, phones, and computers. Originally, me and my partner took photos on a Nikon camera; however, the pictures came out blurry so we retook them with an iphone. Computers were used to upload tasks and research information needed for the tasks.
