GEOSCIENCE ASSESSMENT ______.OFFICE__ ^
Introduction
Andy Bite and RJ Ingram spent one day examining claim 122751 for evidence of significant zones of' Sudbury-type" breccia. Breccia zones were discovered As well, samples were taken for thin section analysis. As a consequence, the claim was recommended for a further detailed examination.
Regional Geology
The claim's boundaries lie over pink to white porphyritic quartz monzonite, a course grained phase of the Creighton Pluton (2200 Ma), which intruded the basic metavolcanics of undetermined origin. To the north are the rocks of the Sudbury Igneous Complex and that of the Whitewater Group. To the south of the Creighton Pluton are the sedimentary rocks of the Huronian Supergroup (2700 Ma). All rocks in the region were later crosscut by late olivine diabase dikes, generally striking 3300 Azimuth.
Location and access
The location of the North Graham property, claim 1219751, SE1/4 of Nl/2 of Lot 5, Con 6, located west of Highway # 144 in Graham Township. To access the claim, follow the old INCO roast yard road for approximately two kilometers. Following a north access road towards INCO's Gertude Open Pit. Follow the road north for approximately 200 meters and traverse west approximately 60 meters.
Work performed
On August 13, 1998, the author and geologist Andy Bite prospected the property by observing outcrops and taking grab samples for thin section work and geochemical analysis. The traverse was focused on the outcrops in the southeast area of the claim.
The two samples were taken at the locations noted (figure 1), and thin sections were made from each. Sample A-257 was taken from an outcrop described by Bite as a fine grained to medium grained olivine bearing orthopyroxene. Sample A-258 was described as fine-grained granite hosted recrystallized vein of light grey melt-type Sudbury Breccia, possibly having an igneous texture. The two samples were taken to Mainland Petrographies in Azilda, Ontario where thin sections were made. A detailed description of petrographic work was done by Bite (figure 2).
Conclusions and recommendations
Sudbury-type breccia was discovered during the examination of the property, similar the fabric and composition to that of the Sudbury-type breccia found in the southern Graham property. This breccia has been thought to lead directly or indirectly to a footwall-type deposit. Therefore, the recommendation is for further examination of the property in question.

Sample # A.257.98
TS#: W98 0830
Hand Specimen Description
Fine to medium grained (orthopyroxene?) gabbro, altered possible orthopyroxene relicts, possible olivine grains.
Thin Section Description: Fine to medium grained two-pyroxene biotite quartz gabbro. The pyroxenes, largely prismatic, are altered to amphibole, while a smaller population is subophitic to diabasic in relict texture. There are also some more coarse-grained subprismatic grains or aggregates of grains that suggest mafic inclusions or xenocrysts. Plagioclase grains occur in two habits: as medium-grained partly re-crystallized grains and as smaller subhedral grains in an optically continuous quartz groundmass along with primary-looking biotite grains. Quartz content is approximately 2-3*Vo. Small zircon grains with pleochroic halos are common in the biotite grains.
Sample # : A.258.98 Thin section #: W98 0831
Hand Specimen Description: Fine grained light colored vein in granite possible igneous textured Sudbury breccia.
Thin Section Description
Sudbury breccia, weekly foliated with small felsic (granitoid) clasts and in contact with a medium to coarse-grained altered granodioritic fragment. The matrix is fine grained and consists offtakes and aggregates of biotite, epidote, quartz and hornblende.
