Page 2: Precios esPeciales Para Offshore Opportunities Colombia ... · • Ensuring government and companies work together to improve environmental licensing in Colombia diego Luis Gil Agudelo,

Multinational operators are continuing complex offshore exploration processes to confirm the presence of hydrocarbons in Colombia. As you may be aware, total capital expenditure for Colombia’s offshore drilling activities, at US$4 – 5 billion, provides a huge business potential for direct and indirect suppliers and service providers.

However, numerous risks and challenges - particularly for deep water gas exploration, to consider include: high operating costs, lower success rates (30 – 40%), returns - albeit huge potential - take longer to recoup, and HSE concerns after Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

In addition, development of infrastructure and supporting industries and production facilities, local premium products, strategically located services and logistics must all be addressed. Successful investment depends upon an assurance of knowledge and experience of human resources, best practices and technology.

Offshore Opportunities Colombia 2016 will provide a platform for authorities, operators, seismic companies, investors, law firms, oilfield services, OSvs, logistics and engineering firms to discuss future industry requirements. Sessions include: updates on regulations, tax regimes and royalties; environmental licensing, developing common offshore standards, infrastructure and transport projects, investment strategies and commercialization of the gas industry.

Company’s looking to start or increase business in Colombia’s offshore industry will gain a real competitive advantage.

I look forward to meeting you in April.
