Ecopreneurship

The light-bulb moment is now dead. Grossly inefficient, no longer a filament will illuminate

our ideas. L.E.D‘s use far less power!

An entrepreneur is the one whose business efforts are not only driven by profit, but also by

concern for the environment. Much has been talked around the world regarding sustainable

development, finite resources, growing population, natural resource degradation, and

biodiversity and so on. As we are in light of many of such problems, there lay ample

opportunities to build on these problems. Therefore we are looking at solutions for ‘Energy

and Resource use Efficiency’ by reducing wastes, reducing emissions, sustainable raw

materials, sustainable energy use and so on.

Diffusion of Innovation for Bottom of Pyramid

Diffusion of Innovations is a theory that explains how, why and the rate at which new idea

spread through groups of people. Innovations for bottom of pyramid and grass root

innovators often face the problem of diffusion of innovation i.e. movement of idea from one

group of adopters to the next. Hence, we are looking for a business plan that addresses the

challenges in diffusion of innovation from innovators to the majority so as to have maximumsocial and economic advantage. Fundamental elements to diffusion of innovation are:

Innovation – whatever it is being perceived as new

Communication channels – how the message is moved

Time – How long it takes for a decision to be made and how fast the whole thing spreads

Social system – the different units together to solve a common problem
