DescriptionThe prairie dog is an interesting mammal. It grows to
16in and weighs to 2 to 4 pounds.Their color is yellowish to reddish.Their paws and nose help them dig.
Habitat They’re found in Montana, Nebraska, and
south of Mexico. They live in underground burrows with many tunnels and chambers.
Living Habitat Prairie Dogs chase away other animals to
steal their food and share food with family. Their diet is herbivore. All species hunker down in winter and burning weather.
Inte re s ting F a c ts A female has 4 pups in April and May.
Young pups can be playful and often found romping around. Their average life span is 3 to 4 years.
Birth and Growth These group members often greet each
other with a prairie dog kiss or nuzzle. Another species is the white tailed prairie dog. These rodents do not gather in large towns. I hope you found my facts interesting.
