The image was constructed by placing such toys as these in the primes spot of where the chaos has been occurring. Which is obvious for many reasons. The toys have obviously not just been in an explosion and they don’t have any other items surrounding them except rubble. The meaning that is commutated through this image is to suggest that there are children involved and maybe harmed because of the devastation in Lebanon, which obviously try’s to give the viewer a sense of humanity for the image and what is occurring. The true meaning is that, yes there is devastation but the items and toys have been placed there to change the perception and to give an emotional response. If the toys weren’t there, yes they would still be decent images, showing the after- math of the explosions but with the toys it gives the same meaning but more. The signs that this image is obviously constructed are how clean the toys are and how they just happen to be there where the action is taking place. Although I quite like a couple of the images it is defiantly obvious that they are staged.

I think this is a prime example of staged imaging in photographic journalism. Taken by Reuters photographers in Lebanon. If the toys weren’t there, yes they would still be decent images, showing the after-math of the explosions but with the toys it gives the same meaning but more. The signs that this image is obviously constructed are how clean the toys are and how they just happen to be there where the action is taking place. Although I quite like a couple of the images it is defiantly obvious that they are staged.
