Atheroma of an Artery:

Wavy fibers is an early sign of myocardial infarction

Myocardial infarction:Coagulative necrosis and a few inflammatory

cells

Myocardial infarction:Coagulative necrosis, interstitial bleeding, and a few

inflammatory cells.

Dilated heart in myocarditis

Dilated cardiomyopathy

Cardiomyopathy (trichrome stain): extensive fibrosis (blue) between the myocytes.

The myocytes also vary in size.

Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy

Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy : myofiber dysarray ;

not all fibers are pulling the same direction. Thus the

contraction is ineffective.
